That's a common argument of someone who hasn't at least studied the book of Matthew, which is unsurprisingly most Christians and especially Catholics.

Nowhere does it say don't inform yourself.

The new testament is supplementary, the old testament (Judaic) provides context.

Because every other religion yells out to focus on doing good deeds only, and to transcend via meditation. What other religion has a sacrificial element?

A sign in the sky is similar to "virtue signaling" or in other words, all talk no action. Converting a part of yourself into flesh is similar to "putting skin in the game". He is putting himself in the shoes of the righteous and receiving human nature(slander, hostility, injustice etc.), it is a level above empathy.

Additionally, a sign in the sky is capable of being misunderstood. In the flesh, Jesus Christ struggled to gain the trust of man because they thought he was working with the devil because he was casting demons out of men. Jesus Christ then rebukes them by saying "a kingdom cannot stand when it is divided". Today, recognized as "divide and(to) conquer".

It is courage fueled by a love to go above empathy. Jesus Christ dying sets an example to every Christ follower, the message is to not be afraid because your spirit will live.

I can see how it can seem blasphemous, but if God does wish to reveal himself with humility and via action not talk, then Jesus Christ is an excellent example.

The OT(Judaic) is supplementary, context, the NT is Christianity. The teachings in the discourses of Christ is what every true follower of Christ aspires to replicate. If you haven't at least read the book of Matthew then you have no authority spouting blind judgement.
