Bathing will be quite regular since it's just good to have a hot steam bath after a whole day of work, either because you feel cold from the outside or you feel sweaty because of all the clothes you wear to avoid feeling cold. For celebrations dedicated to bathing, putting one around winter solstice seems natural, but having one around summer solstice might not be a bad idea either if I go for something like Saturnalia. It might be fun to have a sub-sect dedicated to Wiowa, maybe something similar to cult of Dionysus?

I'm not an oldfag obviously, but personally speaking I keep my opinions to myself unless something is either setting-breaking, or the person posting it directly asks for feedback/opinions. This isn't out of malice or any desire to stay in a "clique," but rather because not everyone wants feedback on every little thing. If the setting is meant to be punk history anyway, does it really matter if tech advances? There are certain kinds of technology like the infamous steam trains the thread voted against that would change the entire world too much, but that only restricts specific types of technology from developing. Yes, it would be unrealistic for certain developments to only be utilized one way or another without also being used for the "forbidden" technologies, but having the entire world technologically frozen forever is just as unrealistic. While for some reps, writing their nation slowly advancing tech might happen over the course of several irl months, it'd be a massive pain for a returning rep to come back and find out they're now going to have to rewrite massive chunks of their lore to account for "world progression." This isn't even taking into account reps who write more slowly and/or thoroughly, who might have fleshed out one or two sections of their lore in the time it takes faster writers to write about their nation making all these tech advances. I thought about making armor with forcefields via chuubanite like Mass Effect that deflect bullets but does nothing to melee weapons. Also there's chuubanite artifacts like boots, gloves, and other things to boost movement like running, climbing, and jumping. You still have to outfit your troops properly for combat. But now there's a way to balance medieval melee weapons with guns. Though this would be more fantasy like Phantasy Star or Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic.

However if you run into a pack of 20 bugbears to one adventurer then you're screwed. Also I do like monster variety where they are threatening at every size. Been a while since I saw the movie but shields can still block blows to an extent so special techniques are used to effectively penetrate the shields using daggers and short swords. If I were to balance out shield generators it would be that they either overload or run out of power with enough gun shots. Also hazards like fire and gas still go through. Early generators probably wouldn't be rechargeable. So you'd have to swap batteries. Also fields would most likely be restricted to the physical armor or cloth.
