I would've thought being stuck at home would make me bored enough to write again, but I guess not. A manticore excels in both long-range and close-range combat. A shield or armor is required to be able to block the spines. However, there has been some success in taunting them into relying solely on their strength rather than waste venom in the fight. Much like how many scorpions would rather rely on tearing the prey apart instead of intoxicating them, a manticore can sometimes be reasoned to do the same depending on the individual.

Although a manticore has natural poison resistance, as well as natural immunity to her own venom, she is not immune to other poisons. Manticores also don't have a as much stamina as humans, mostly relying on her prey to do the bulk of the work during rape. Whittling away at her energy is very effective, but also risky as even just one slap or punch can knock down a human into a vulnerable position.

Manticores are weak to pressure point attacks. Finding pressure points to channel spirit energy into is key to turning the tide of a tussle. Electricity and fire also work in KOing a manticore, the former even causing spines to involuntarily shoot out if struck at the right spot.

All of this doesn't matter if one isn't careful, though. Manticores prefer to ambush. Finding ways to detect them is crucial in avoiding the first-strike advantage. Thankfully, they are very territorial and like to mark the areas with claw marks, so you'll know when you should be alert for one. They tend to be very proud, so finding a position that is hard to ambush while goading the hidden monster into attacking can compel her to squander the element of surprise.
