This was the first conference where Powell was reading off a screen
All the others he has read off a piece of paper
What does this tell us?
I think this tells us that they were changing the script up until the last minute, to the point that he couldn't have it printed out to read it.
Why does this matter?
It shows that the Fed is reacting, not predicting / leading; it shows the Fed is being held together behind the scenes with rubber bands and duct tape; it shows that the Fed does not have their shit together --- like a teacher seeing a student working on their homework in the hall before class starts

Ohhh, my sweet child. I'm not saying it will crash tomorrow, but if the market going higher (without the FED and the banking system creating new currency units) doesn't worry you, then you will realize how big of an imbecile you are in the future.

I genuinely, unironically, believe that Chairman Powell is working for the benefit of the big 4. He’s doing everything he can to kill off community and regional banks. Who does that benefit? Not the consumer. It benefits the big banks. There is no logical explanation for refusing to lower rates. None. Unless he intentionally wants to kill off smaller banks to benefit the big 4.

You naturally want to buy low and sell high. Successful day trading involves buying high and selling higher. The easiest pattern to master mechanically is buying a breakout from a consolidation which involves exactly this. The second thing you will be disinclined to do is hold onto your winners as long as possible while cutting your losers quick. You need to have a tight stop and make absolute sure you honor it. You will not want to do this as there is always some excuse to lower a stop. Holding onto winners is hard because as soon as you are in profit you will have the supreme urge to close the trade. However if you close trades too fast the winners will never make up for the losers. As the trade is moving up and making more and more profit your brain will try to tempt you to close early so you don't lose that profit. And sometimes the trade will turn around and become a loser. You just have to live with that. The risk to reward needs to be at least 1:1 if not 2:1 or more. Any day trading system that cuts winners early and has less than a 1:1 will be a loser no matter if it has a 90% win rate.
So there you go. You will want to buy low and sell high when instead you should buy high. You will want to cut winners so they don't turn into losses. Don't do this

But to answer your last questions.
I max out my 401k and IRA's in vanguard spy500 etf and funds. I sometimes buy options but they are LEAPs on companies that after research I conclude have a high chance at going higher. Starting out I would try and "day trade" when I had like 15k lol would mostly do credit and debit spreads that were 2 weeks out. but I made great returns just picking 10-15 stocks that I researched well and bought and held over a long period of time.
Now I am getting into more tax avoidance so long term approach I guess is to by MGK VUG VOO or QQQ until you die and borrow against it with either cash margin or equity loan from your bank.

had the us returned to splendid isolation following ww2 and left europe to defend itself not only militarily but also its trade routes and diplomatic interests it would be just another communist satellite.
still amazed to this day the yanks aren't more hostile to the biting hand they feed, it shows an overwhelming goodness in their nature that is missing from much of european thought.

Yeah they'll kill debt holders, most western companies up to their tits in debt it benefits the ruling class people still get their pensions (whatever they're worth) benefits etc... if you understand the system you'll know there's only one path forward and that's "printing" currency.

There has never been a nation of Anglo Saxons or Germans to become communist.
This stuff is more complicated then "big red army runs over blue army so idea X is implemented." There's a genetic and epigenetic connection with ideology and some genes and epigenes are incompatible with some ideologies. If we had left Europe alone it would have just gone through another of its natural war cycles and returned to organic growth instead of become a meaningless dying American vessel state (which is much closer to the vision the communists have for Europe anyway.)

lolno it wouldn't be. Commies only survived because of massive lend-lease from the US, before that they were losing like the backward retards they still are. Europe wouldn't be communist. It would be nazi.
I'm not saying it's better, but check your History first.

It's funny how you need capitalism to establish communism. Just look at all the American/European funding of the Russian Bolshevik Revolution + lend-lease to keep it propped up.

with the nazis defeated and the us (hypothetically) gone the only players left would be a broken and impoverished europe and the soviets backed by the ever growing number of communist eastern states. europeans need to understand what did and still does stand between them and subjugation but they can't out of some misplaced notion the post-war deal is of their doing.

American involvement is responsible for East Germany and even then the Germans didn't ever really go along with it.
As to communism in interwar Germany: that was so unpopular Hitler was able to found a reactionary party from scratch because of it. It was the same jewish PR then as today in the US that made it seem "popular" while being rejected by the people.
