>higher for longer
>more increases are not only possible, but likely
>two more increases of 25bps in the coming months
>no cuts
it's also the bad economic data we have been getting, new orders are crashing, the economy is getting weaker; housing fell the most in 11 years last month - the consumer is kill
it is also the horrible earnings reports that have been coming out, showing how weak the consumer is (see Home Depot)
the economy is shit, and the Fed is continuing to tighten into it, and will not cut
we are also seeing very bad data worldwide, especially out of China

That wasn't the bottom. You'll be fine. SPY is going to drop 410 today. You hang around these people long enough, you know how they do things. The indicator is that you had that really odd controlled drop yesterday into a gap down today basically. Then today you have price acting like a kid on the beach running away from the waves. It's the people who move price doing their best to put on a good show.
>Maybe it isn't going to drop! Maybe it will! Ohhhhh that drama of it all! Just kidding, straight down.
If you keep an eye out for stuff like this, it's easy money. Days like today pretty much never have meaningful turnarounds or pumps to the upside the same day. Tomorrow might be a different story, but they're wrecking things today.

Most of the holding companies like this are below NAV. That's one of the major points in the Hindenburg report. Also their dividend is like 30% currently if it goes lower Incahn won't be able to pay the dividend because he is using cash reserves and loaning his stock out to do so. So case in point it has room to plummet even lower.

>Also their dividend is like 30% currently if it goes lower Incahn won't be able to pay the dividend
This is false. They can pay out the dividend forever off current cashflows as long as Icahn chooses to take his dividend in kind, and as long as outside investors all take cash.
The problem is that, at some point, it makes more sense for him to cut the dividend and cuck the outside investors. In a sense, these investors were getting paid to prop up an imaginary value so that Icahn could take out margin against his own stake, for other uses.
When he can no longer access that margin because the ponzi has been publicly acknowledged, there is no point to continue paying off those outside holders.

Hindenburg were not the first to see through this scheme, but they were the first to attack it with enough clout to make a difference. Hard to see it survive from here given that the incentives are no longer there. Better to deflate the whole system completely now and then privately takeover what remains of the carcass.
