FSN's translation needs A LOT of work. It took over a decade for the western fanbase to find out about Einzberns using Siegfried's cursed gold as part of the basis for the Grail (which does goes a long way in explaining why the Einzberns kept getting burned on the deal in Grail Wars). Basically, the original mirrormoon translation was, "Yes. The Einzberns specialized in 'the golden rule of the line'. They were the best suited to make an imitation of the Holy Grail." It was a mistranslation from what I read since it was supposed to be, "The Einzbern is specialized in (or excel at) the legend of the Rheine Gold, therefore they are the most suited to make the imitation of the Holy Grail".

Fate/Zero LNs were translated from chinese and came out fucking awful

UTW fate translations are trash. Raze their main TL had a tantrum on everyone translating 正義の味方 as ally of justice or just localized to hero always triggered him because "nobody says ally of justice" and "hero was too on the nose" and "hero of justice" was worse

Cokesakto's translation of Kara no Kyokai really was lacking, though. It may have read smoothly, but it was embellished to the point of containing entire sentences made up from thin air by the translator which didn't exist in the original and did not convey any meaning or spirit present in the original. At that point you're no longer reading a translation, but the translator's own creative writing

Too short. Kohaku's route is too short. It's probably the route I became engrossed with the most so I'm sad on how quick things were. Some things like Shiki realizing his love and Kohaku learning not to be a doll again felt like it needed more scenes. I really like what they brought to the table so I hope the route gets more explored in the remake, probably my favorite Tsukihime route right now. Nothing beats just hanging out with SHIKI at night. Sadly, he still gets killed later on.
Eclipse was a nice send-off. Aoko and Shiki together is always nice but where does it fit in the timeline? Was it just separate from all routes entirely?

Yo the fags hating on Arc route in Remake are tripping. That shit was amazing. I'll really give you the benefit of the doubt that you read it but the talking points sound similar to the shit going on in youtube comments of summary videos lol.

With Arc route they wanted to ease players into the remake universe. They wanted it to be nostalgic and similar enough that it was like meeting a long lost friend while giving us a taste of things to come and the very different circumstances present. I think they definitely fulfilled their goal in that regard. The route was inspired heavily by the type of shit goat SS gave us in the manga. It was a much more complete experience. In general it's a beautiful tale of a boy, wandering in the dark, who fell in love with the moon. It leaves you empty. It's bittersweet. It's the shit JP eats up and will be a hit. The player is forced to feel just like Shiki does. Empty and telling to himself that it's ok. Even when he presses the doubt button on whether he can continue as is. That feeling persists and is played upon in the player even as Shiki finds happiness in Ciel's route(Which is just an insanely beautiful route in it's own way. Thank you lord.) because ultimately Shiki and Arc's relationship is still integral no matter what happens. The very ending of the game with him narrating sums it up. Just like him we're left hoping for another reunion with the crazy vampire someday. I really don't get where people are coming off with the idea that the main heroine got shafted. Arc was great in her route and just as phenomenal in Ciel route. They both really blend together to bolster her total character, personality and relationship with Shiki. And that's why people moaning about her not getting the happy end are missing the point. A visual novel isn't just a self-contained experience of one route. It's something that develops across the entire game's presentation. This is especially obvious with what they are doing with Arcueid. I understand wanting her ultimate route NOW but you wouldn't be able to experience it at max capacity without going through everything else they have in store for us. Enjoy the experience.

Also, her VA was great. The way she says "Ciel!" and "That's my Killer!" lives rent-free in my mind.
