I believe they are a negative for most REITs though. If I understand it correctly they are mostly a middleman between large banks and the tennants. They make profit off the margins so low interest effectively kneecaps them. Someone jump in if I'm misinterpreting that.
I too am in RIETs and am just accepting it as a high risk bet with dividend potential later on, instead of picking few I went wide and out small amounts in several.

Could be. But my point is I propose a different kind of visualization. Instead of comparing two stocks side by side on the timeline the way it is typically done, you plot a single line where the X axis is stock X and the Y axis is stock Y. That way it could be easier to see a long term trend. For example for a perfect tracking you will have a straight line y=x. For a 3x leveraged stock you get y=3x etc. And any number of y=ax+b type of linear plots. Might also spot some non-linear / log patterns if one of them shoots through the roof.

Correlation of 0.15 or smth for 4 weeks out. He chose 4 weeks in the white paper because that gave the best correlation. While I think that measuring DIX's predictive value in regard to a fixed time offset doesn't really show the full picture it's still a very weak correlation, especially in the last bull market. And that's only SPY DIX. Individual stock dix is even messier.

Is there any reason why IBEX (Spain), CAC (France), FTSE (UK) or MIB perform so poorly compared to the DAX? The DAX is not known for its great growth, but compared to other European indices its like watching a mirrored SPY.
European indices look like sick crabs since 2000, meanwhile the DAX actually gained quite a lot.

I mean nobody wants to buy IBEX but I wonder why even the UK FTSE is so low.

Watered down in terms of ambitions. PRC's aims are fairly similar to US; it wants to be dominant global power. It doesn't want an outright empire. PRC basically has respect for the Westphalian system, with the exception of Taiwan.
Hell, the PRC has a strong economic investment in an intact, functioning United States. They'd like a less powerful US, but one that's still an economic partner.
The USSR (at least the beginning) genuinely aimed for world revolution, and used the "spread of revolution" to justify any and all imperialist aims. (Though by the end, the USSR had shrunk to sad, limited goals.)
I think globalization and the proliferation of nuclear weapons have ended the era of true supervillains. We'll never have another true Hitler or Stalin. It's fitting for our era that the worst villains we can think of are fringe little leaders like Gaddafi or Kim Jong Un.
I foresee cyberwarfare and bursts of tariffs, and maybe proxy conflicts where we fund rival rebels in poor countries. I don't imagine anything more than that happening.

Well your best time to buy was last week. It was under $53 a share. But I'll give you a rough breakdown. A nice divvy (0.47), decent yield (3.2%), getting federal dollars till hell freezes over cause global world peace just ain't happening, getting private sector dollars when things recover, also profits out the ass if/when the space missions/tourism thing kicks off. All this at chump change cost to you compared to other defense players.

because the premiums are huge for options that expire 1-2 mos. out. by your remark i can tell you're fairly new to options. i successfully traded FB and WYNN puts recently, near the expiry, and i'm fairly new myself but have 7 years experience overall in options. it is hard to time, that's why the gains are so high if you do it correctly. look at moderna, wayfair and twilio puts, all had massive gain potentials if you had gotten the 5/22 ones. everything is fucking hard man, timing IS the biggest challenge of investing. if you don't want to time things you might as well just do the buy and hold strat like buffett, in which case you don't want to make money fast you just want long-term growth.

today TVIX spiked precisely because most people thought we are still in a recovery rally due to the pozitive news (vaccines, reopening, powell "plenty of tools left"). you have to time things by taking a risk, saying we don't know is just stating an obvious fact. if buying options with far out expiration dates was the easy answer more would be doing that. even if you're right about Sept puts you'll still get crushed by time decay.
