I only respect cunny and SDS holders, bros.
That stupid fucking dip absolutely demolished my stops while I was at work. Lost like $1,000 potential gains because of it and I could have recovered about $550 of it if my stops didn’t trip. I hate stupid bobos
LMAOOOOOOING AT PEOPLE SHORTING OIL
>>19210032I wouldn't buy into REITs right now if I were you. There might be a couple of hidden gems but the vast majority of them are extremely leveraged in order to maintain dividends and are getting wrecked right now. Many of them will not exist this time next year.

Today was not a good day. But none of my losses are realized. And I'm still up 350 from when I started. All my holds are long term. I need to shut this shit off and look at it again in 6 months
>>19210057But the REITS themselves are trading at huge discount. Look at IVR and NRZ. WHy not load up and go long with a 400% gain potential plus dividends?

>>19210092Dividends are set to fix amounts not to fixed%. They merely look that high BECAUSE they are at a "discount". They are also extremely exposed to mortgage defaults, commercial defaults, and forbearance while also being leveraged up. A lot of these will likely not survive.

>>19210125I understand about the leverage but the strong ones have reduced leverage by selling risky assets and reducing dividends until the virus scare is gone. Still massive upside potential
>>19210119Low interest rates aren't going to help that much. The real issue is that a bunch of a people have tapped into their savings in order to survive the these few months of having no job. A bunch of potential home buyers are now suddenly years back from being able to make any down payment to actually enter the real estate market.
>>19210076You already posted the list but in reverse orderThe younger the more financially literate people areBoomers and they like could get rich putting money in fucking bank accounts and thus they know nothing while zoomers are practicing shitcoin scams and Instagram dropship marketing since 12 years old
>>19210076Define financial literacy. It was 1000 times safer to invest back then when you needed to actually call your broker to buy stock. Thats what pre-boomers did. And no need to "sit on your hands", Invest in an index and forget. Now evry zoomer thinks he is smart enough to jump straight into trading options. Fucking insane. Preinternet investing was inifintely safer

>>19210119>low interest rates for the next few years will be positive for home buyersI believe they are a negative for most REITs though. Someone jump in if I'm misinterpreting that. >>19210882Could be. But my point is I propose a different kind of visualization. Instead of comparing two stocks side by side on the timeline the way it is typically done, you plot a single line where the X axis is stock X and the Y axis is stock Y. That way it could be easier to see a long term trend. For example for a perfect tracking you will have a straight line y=x. For a 3x leveraged stock you get y=3x etc. And any number of y=ax+b type of linear plots. Might also spot some non-linear / log patterns if one of them shoots through the roof.

While I think that measuring DIX's predictive value in regard to a fixed time offset doesn't really show the full picture it's still a very weak correlation, especially in the last bull market. And that's only SPY DIX. Individual stock dix is even messier.

Is there any reason why IBEX (Spain), CAC (France), FTSE (UK) or MIB perform so poorly compared to the DAX? The DAX is not known for its great growth, but compared to other European indices its like watching a mirrored SPY.European indices look like sick crabs since 2000, meanwhile the DAX actually gained quite a lot.I mean nobody wants to buy IBEX but I wonder why even the UK FTSE is so low.

>>19211292Watered down in terms of ambitions. PRC's aims are fairly similar to US; it wants to be dominant global power. It doesn't want an outright empire. PRC basically has respect for the Westphalian system, with the exception of Taiwan.Hell, the PRC has a strong economic investment in an intact, functioning United States. They'd like a less powerful US, but one that's still an economic partner. The USSR (at least the beginning) genuinely aimed for world revolution, and used the "spread of revolution" to justify any and all imperialist aims. (Though by the end, the USSR had shrunk to sad, limited goals.)I think globalization and the proliferation of nuclear weapons have ended the era of true supervillains. We'll never have another true Hitler or Stalin. It's fitting for our era that the worst villains we can think of are fringe little leaders like Gaddafi or Kim Jong Un.I foresee cyberwarfare and bursts of tariffs, and maybe proxy conflicts where we fund rival rebels in poor countries. I don't imagine anything more than that happening.

>>19211519Well your best time to buy was last week. It was under $53 a share. But I'll give you a rough breakdown. A nice divvy (0.47), decent yield (3.2%), getting federal dollars till hell freezes over cause global world peace just ain't happening, getting private sector dollars when things recover, also profits out the ass if/when the space missions/tourism thing kicks off. All this at chump change cost to you compared to other defense players.

Is it too late to buy puts on Moderna?
>>19211134America is a corpse being feasted on by maggots. Liberals are rooting for the maggots, Conservatives are rooting for the corpse
>>19211634because the premiums are huge for options that expire 1-2 mos. out. by your remark i can tell you're fairly new to options. i successfully traded FB and WYNN puts recently, near the expiry, and i'm fairly new myself but have 7 years experience overall in options. it is hard to time, that's why the gains are so high if you do it correctly. look at moderna, wayfair and twilio puts, all had massive gain potentials if you had gotten the 5/22 ones. everything is fucking hard man, timing IS the biggest challenge of investing. if you don't want to time things you might as well just do the buy and hold strat like buffett, in which case you don't want to make money fast you just want long-term growth.today TVIX spiked precisely because most people thought we are still in a recovery rally due to the pozitive news (vaccines, reopening, powell "plenty of tools left"). you have to time things by taking a risk, saying we don't know is just stating an obvious fact. if buying options with far out expiration dates was the easy answer more would be doing that. even if you're right about Sept puts you'll still get crushed by time decay.
