They know that their end is near, as the theoretical threshold of investors who are aware of the scam that is the U.S. equity markets has been blown over at least since early 2021. With this many people aware of the 'game', wall street can no longer rely on media cycles coordinated with aggressive pumping/shorting to trigger a reliable greed/fear response in retail, that convinces them to buy or sell. Enough retail are now willing to hold through catastrophic losses because all these shorts are future buyers now that billionaires (RC, Icahn) are fighting other billionaires (ken & friends) with corporate restructuring and financial warfare over the future of heavily naked shorted companies.

Lets make predictions, I think the distraction will be UFO's, something with Trump, or Covid 2.0, or macro geopolitical destabilizing events. I vote for UFO's, you will need a fucking massive story when gen x and boomers find out their retirements are filled with hot air because they're being sold fake shares in exchange for their not fake money.
