Saying "I'm happy" after a happy event in your life doesn't necessarily mean you're happy as a whole, just means at the very least that you're now in a state of happiness because of said happy event
In the same way it goes for something unhappy, you can be in a state of unhappiness while still being happy as a whole
Obviously, this means you can be happy while happy and unhappy while unhappy
In the same manner, thinking you're happy because you have a good life or because you're not lacking in material things doesn't necessarily mean you're happy, that's why billionaires can be depressed while having it all and why people without much can be really energetic and happy
Happiness is internal and not external, so to be happy you need internal development, not external
And people using words without having a proper definition attached to them is a genuine problem, frankly, i don't think it'll ever get resolved
