Why do otaku find anime charatcers physcially attractive and are preferred over real people? Is it social anxiety or some phobia that turns you away from real people or is it something else?

>> No.9881595

Because real people are disgusting.
Sorry, I find real people wearing cosplay so repulsive, it's just ugly and fake.
I can't even explain why.

>> No.9881592

It's called aesthetics.

>> No.9881593

Real people are assholes.

Anime characters are designed to be entertaining, and not assholes.

Or assholes in a very specific way, if you're into that.

>> No.9881605

2D characters have simple personalities and are predictable, so I have no stress or reason to wonder bad things about them. You also have that whole deal with 2D characters always having their entire background always available for looking over, just so you're sure she's a good girl.
To top it all off, love in the 2D world is overbearing, obsessive, completely honest. There isn't anything to really think over when a girl jumps on top of you or says a phrase like "I-t's not like I like you or anything, you pervert!". That is practically a marriage proposal.

I've been thinking about that all this morning since I've finished watching Dog Days season 2...

All I want is an anime gf to [Dog Days S2 spoilers...!] --> sleep together with me like Sink did with the Hime-sama in the final EP... I almost cried for reals like in Season 1...
Maybe it's also because I can have all the animes I want instead of only one gurl like the feminists think it should be in RL...

Rephrase :
>I can't understand why you'd do that, so you've got a problem.

Perfect normalfag reasoning.

Isn't that modern psychology? If you steer from the norm, you're eligible for drugs!

That's more like the old psychiatry than the recent one.

Example: homosexuality was once considered a disorder now it isn't.

still should be, because from a functional perspective it's stupid and even in places that have embraced it and tried to be as accommodating as possible suicide rates in the gay community are still incredibly high (it was Sweden or Holland, I forget.)

Being stupid isn't a disorder, it's the norm.

Everything is a shadow of its ideal form. Even plato knew that and if he were alive today he'd probably like anime babes too.

>> No.9881710

Actually if a disorder is defined by its disfunctionality rather than its abnormality, then normality should be considered a disorder.

Ideals only exist in human minds, 2D is a closer representation of such ideals in a more pure form because they are actually done by artists who strive to reach that very objective, whereas 3D is just how reality is.

I don't understand why a person wouldn't find a drawing physically attractive? I mean if it's a drawing that closely enough resembles something real that you attracted to, like women, why wouldn't you find it attractive?
Plus everyone has fantasies about their ideal person, art is just a way of giving those fantasies a physical appearance. You do away with the things you don't like, add things you do, let your fantasies run wild.

Why wouldn't someone like that?

Yeah. Anime characters are often designed to be attractive. Real people are mostly good at eating and shitting. If they look good, it's a rare accident.
