More like they can't help how popular their temple is.
Typical Touhous to exploit a Buddhist temple offering a bed and food to anyone willing to help around the house and recite a few sutras. Not that I can imagine Mami or Nue working or praying.

I agree. And whenever I see this image, I always notice how Seiga is holding on to Tojiko's shoulder and I wonder why that is. That's the last person's shoulder I'd imagine her holding.

I also think it's interesting how, after the demo, Yoshika and Kyouko would be seen together in manga strips and the like, but after the full game release and the whole plot behind the game has been revealed they're practically enemies. Or, their bosses are, at least.
