You'd think, but I think it may be based off of saying 'November ninth'; Instead of going in order of ascending length, we go with the order used in general conversation.

Pure conjecture, but still.

And nice thread, OP; clearly few of us still remember that September used to be the seventh month and November the ninth.

Elaborate on which? September being the seventh month and November the ninth until January and February were added to the gregorian calendar, or the bit I thought made sense about why we use month/day/year in America instead of day/month/year?

It's obvious when you look at the names for the months.

december: deca
november: neuf
september: sept
october: octo
(Of course, if you never had French it might not be as obvious.)

I think it used to be that February was the twelfth month of the year, since it's the last winter month. But then Christians wanted December to be the last month of the year because of Christmas.

Long long time ago before the existence of /jp/, anons gather on the website call 4chan.
The place where losers and virgins gather, because of how ronery they are, there is almost a nightly thread of ronery where anons gather and post about how ronery they are.

Post typically contain "So ronery ;_;"

Till this day ;_; is the only accepted emoticon accepted in 4chan.

There's a reason, and that is that emoticons simply look immature and childish. It links us to the worst parts of being a weeaboo and we try to steer clear from that.
Weaning yourself from the need to communicate your feelings through emoticons is one of the first things everyone do when they start lurking here for a decent time.

And this is the same reason why I dislike reaction images. It's the same thing.

The only reason ;_; is allowed is due to nostalgia, but even with that you'd do best to not overuse it.

In other words, lurk more.

One of the reasons why 4chan has avoided become quite as much a cesspit as it might otherwise is a general expectation of minimum standards of behaviour in things like grammar and the use of emoticons.
