I had this mod planned out a while back, CNC3 mod: Humans vs SDM vs Eientei/Lunarians.

Humans would specialise in like small, stealthy and hard hitting units: youkai hunters, priests, wizards. SDM would specialise in long range renaissance cannons of various sizes and the lunarians would specialise in very expensive but overall high quality footsoldiers, tripod walkers (ala war of the worlds) and hover tanks.

You "research" a hero at the start of the game which blocks you from taking any other hero once its completed but unlocks that heroes spell cards which act like super weapons. Each faction has a single base of operations on the map (SDM Mansion, Human Village and a Lunarian HQ)

Claiming the TW series is awesome is an understatement. The games start to be very enjoyable only after it has been modded with Stainless Steel, Res Gestae, Europa Barbarorum, etc.
