Sometimes that’s just a strategy to cut down the number of applicants who aren’t invested in the position.

If you specify X+ years of experience, you narrow it down to people who actually have experience and people who want the job so badly they’re willing to apply anyway.

If your application is good and you can get to the interview stage and prove you’re not a bumbling awkward retard (this is the most important part) then you can get a job that ‘requires’ lots of experience with little to no experience. They have to like you though.

I'm speaking as a fed contractor that has seen lots of engis hired right out of school no experience.

starting pay in the US is around $50k. Not bad but I know fed mechanics making twice that.

DoD might pay more, not my agency. But in general fed jobs don't start that high with 0 experience unless you're a vet with combat disability.

for comparison if you have a wastewater license you'll start working for the feds in the $70k range and within a year or two be over $100k. And a wastewater license is a lot easier to get than engineering certs.

The feds pay a lot for the right degree. And experienced engis can certainly make millions working in defense. But they're starting clear at the bottom with janitors and such.

You work as a technician or some other role that assists existing engineers with shit. Prove that you can take orders before issuing them.

You'll still lose to someone with experience as an engineer, but having any amount of experience on the job site puts you ahead of anyone without such experience.

STEM is still a meme, and easily the most epic prank the normies have ever pulled on the spergs. They some how managed to corral all the smart people into a narrow academic niche where the average IQ is 120-125, all just to pull the rug on them and import pajeets for even less money.

Fake it till you make it. Look for a recently closed company. Doesn't have to be a large, national or worldwide company. Could be a small company, something local to your city/state/area. Add it to your resume that you worked there for 2 years as an engineer up until they closed. Google as much information on the company prior to its collapse. Study it so that you can easily answer questions if it comes up in the interview.

Yeah I'm particularly thinking of DoD contractors. I started at 80k with a Masters in the early 2010s and now make over 200k with almost 10 years experience. It's not janitor level, it's actually higher than any other trad engineering, just lower than tech. Government itself pays worse than DoD contractors, I grant you that though.

Look, here's how it goes
>HR roastie gets request to hire X people at Y qualification (Y in {entry-level, junior, regular, senior, lead}).
She has an Excel spreadsheet that says:
entry-level: 1-3 years
junior: 3-5 years
regular: 5-7 years
lead: 10 years
Then she pastes that in, the end. She pastes it in if the technology for which 5-7 years of experience is required has only existed for 3 years, she pastes it in if only applicants under 19 are considered. It doesn't matter. It means nothing. What you're supposed to do is lie on your CV so that you tick the boxes. Your problem is that you think that the job ad contains literally true information. As a matter of fact, I would go as far as to recommend giving your friend's phone number as a reference, maybe even make some LLC.

Now you're beginning to understand the absolute cruelty of "saturation".

You see, in both entrepreneurship and the job market as a whole, we live in a hyper competitive world now where even having a hard earned college degree doesn't mean jack squat anymore. When you finally give up on the job market and go for entrepreneurship, you'll be met with a cruel fate - you come to find out that now EVERYONE wants to be an entrepreneur (doesn't matter if online or being a tradie, both are oversaturated as fuck) and you're straight out of luck.

Welcome to a Brave New World, where many will be starving on the streets from too much globalist-fueled saturation, babies will be born from lab experiments since man-woman relationships will become extremely scarce (they need the muh replacement birth numbers from somewhere after all so that they can keep their factories full of tired drugged up wagies working nonstop), and you will see an advertisement on one of the drone spycams from above - YOU WILL BE HAPPY!

"shit" may be a bit of a stretch but definitely less than what you'd get from normal tech companies. I work as a data scientist for a defense contractor near DC and only make 75k (which isn't great by DC standards). Other jobs doing what I am doing that are outside of defense would probably pay at least 100k.
