I've had an ... interesting week. My investing for a long time has been buying 2k of vanguard funds every time I've my bank account tips over 20k. The last couple of months I've been buying stocks. I started out buying comfy long holds, pretty much boomer shit ... then I realised I'm holding all that with my ETF's anyway. So I started using my trading account to buy some things I like, things I'm interested in, but generally solid companies, stuff I like researching and I've watched as I've realised an amazing 4% over the last two months.

Then I thought, fuck this ... I'm going to act like a degenerate gambler and build a cancer portfolio of absolute hype and memes. Thing is ... I just hold $100-250 of each turd? Unfortunately I won't get rich overnight, but at least I won't lose my shirt. Some of them are up a lot.

MTNB - 44.27%
SBBP - 14.41%
SAVA - 22.59%
PTI - 29.11%
ONTX - 22.04%
DFFN - 10.1%
AMRN - 1.46% (woooo)

Oh and I'm down SNSS - 25.09%. Thanks SNSS anon. I initially ignored you after doing some research and deciding it was trash, but with my new found retardation, convinced that trash tier biotech is the key to all kinds of gains I went in $100.

Depending on your trading style, set stops according to the volatility of the individual stock. How much does it retrace while holding a trend? You have to give it sufficient space to do its normal ranging. If you want to set stop tighter than that, you may as well sell half right away, then set a tighter stop on the remainder or set a looser stop and let it ride.

The basic methodology is the same with $100 as with $100,000. Obviously diversification is a problem, but can come later and many assets are not possible to trade due to price, but there are other assets to cut teeth upon. It depends if you enjoy it.

Also though, you want to hold many bags and you want to hold some longer positions either by design or accident and thus if you want to move into and out of positions 2-3 times a week and not get annihilated with fees I'd suggest 2-3k.

The movement today is just people trying to trade the bounce and gamble volatility. You shouldn't be pissed off unless that was your strategy.

I'm also learning it is a totally valid strategy. Good pre-trading? Drop then moon mission on market open. 30m - 2 hours later drop 30% and trade steady ... ideally you get in and out in that period.

Casual never gets you there. I used to swim 2 hours a day 3-4 days a week and I fucked up my shoulders because when you are good 2 hours of front crawl at high speed is pretty brutal. I switched to cyclling and once I was good at it I'd blast 10 miles a day and 50 miles on the weekend. Knee problems 8 years in. Physio told me I had a problem with 'obsessive' exercising doing 400 miles a month. I started weight training as a complimentary form of exercise and eventually hurt my back after 3 years with a max 205kg squat and 247kg dead. Depends on your temperament. I know weed stocks are shit but damn I may have found the shittiest one. JWCAF is the biggest regret in my portfolio right now. It's gone down so consistently I almost feel like it's on purpose. Hopefully the Q4 earnings pump it back enough that i can flush this slimy turd. And to think I actually paid a fucking OTC comission on it. NEVER AGAIN BOYS.

If only. The truth is we're in a QE fueled golden bull market in the election cycle with a pedal to the economic metal Republican president with a shit ton of momentum. The strat is obvious. Wait for a SPY dip like we had a couple of days ago and go half in on calls. It dips more, go the rest of the way in. Sell on the bounce making 30-50% on your shekels. Wash rinse repeat every 2 to 3 weeks. That's how that graph was made.
You're welcome
