alright now that meetings have finally slowed down i had a chance to listen to the ep. what can i say jailbros, this is definitely a unique experience (in a good way). i’m a musiclet so i’m likely way out of my league here, but my thoughts:
smn: thought it was catchy and pretty good when it first dropped. still like it but i feel like enough has been said on it already. 7/10 mostly cuz theres shiny new songs to listen to in the ep
sweetest scarlet: sounds like citypop had a baby with early 2000s pop (anyone else feel that?). overall i like it, vibes feel a bit like the ones otomeroid/sos give. 8/10
in my feelings: breakup song of the ep. gives me pop vibes, like early era pop songs (before they kinda went to shit). i honestly fuck with this song, damn good shit for this jailbird’s soul. i feel like she managed to get the emotion very well. some of my normalfag friends might not know this was a vtuber song if they listened to it. 9/10, but as a jailbird 10000/10
shatter: gives me kda vibes, or something more jpop-y. i like the rap part too. sure, it’s no mori and might be a bit slow for my liking, but seeing her experiment musically with new techniques is wonderful. the chorus starting with “let it shatter all” is a nice catharsis, especially when she starts singing more intensely during the later parts. damn its a close tie between in my feelings and shatter. 9/10, or at least pretty damn close to it

i think this is the first fully english ep in holo? 4 pop like songs, all have their unique flavor, and as someone who’s only heard generic pop slop i applaud wife on making each song have its own style. as a jailbird, definite 10/10 she cooked. on a more musical scale, 8/10 very strong ep, would loop in public and recommend to normalfags. overall based on personal taste i would rank:
