Actually I fucked up I was looking at Mata's follower count not viewcount for debut. So the difference was actually only 1k which I'd put as statistically insignificant. A modestly sized raid could make that difference. 38k for Mata vs 37k for Michi. Then those are both better than everyone else for last year which surprised me. I knew Geega and Kuro were smaller, but Henya was only 31k which seems wild to me given how she's done since then. So they've actually only gotten bigger since the previous debuts were all in the 20k range.

Disagree vtubing is still different and this will make it more mainstream in a bad way. There were already people coming in with no idea what vtubing is about and not even respect it. Normal streamers that are male are more popular because mostly men are watching it doesn't mean women don't exist in the demographic but the male audience is larger and also probably depends on how the community is built with how much the percentage of whatever gender is watching the specific streamer.

one of the main reasons i like vtubing is specifically because it isn't rtx. my life isn't awful per se but i spend a lot of my free time in things like art and vtubing specifically because it is separate from the rtx world and rtx people that make me feel awful about myself. i've built up a mind full of nothing but brain worms when it comes to rtx society and people and my relation to it; non-rtx places and endeavors are my escape from it. when vtubers start doing rtx, all i can say is that i lose any interest. it's not what i'm here for.
