I think it's far better than 1.5 right now with the only advantage being that SD1.5 has more loras, models and support but SDXL should leave 1.5 in the dust once people start training more loras and models.

I wouldn't say 1.5 is finished, just that XL has reached the tipping point where it is finally viable, but lacking fine tuning. It's going to be a gradual transition as newer more specialized models come out.

I think of it this way. Base 1.5 was dogshit for anime styles and the nai leak was the first big leap in quality. It took 3-4 months after the nai leak to get Anything-v3, the first truly good anime model for 1.5. Maybe 6 months after that we reached the stage where models got really good and the lora ecosystem was decently built up. A couple months after that we reached the point where model improvements had diminishing returns. I see basically the same timeline here with XL, where Animagine/Pony are equivalent to the NAI leak. In a few months, we're gonna have a fine tune that's mind blowing.

As someone who has trained a lot of small chuuba loras for SD 1.5, using SDXL feels like magic. Just throw in ~40 images of varying quality and you're pretty much there. No need to worry about a single image poisoning the whole data set or TE burning. Way better detail with less hassle. Prompting takes less guesswork as you can just write what you want.
SD 1.5 has it's positives but it's been pretty much figured out. Most of the new models are just sidegrades in terms of quality.

You can already hook llm prompts with SD by using oobabooga. It automatically generated an image for whatever the LLM responded if that's what was desired. But the LLMs are not very suited to image generation prompting. Well, they weren't until now. I think Rodent just posted a vid yesterday for Mixture of Experts where the experts are separate SD model finetunes that already exist, which are better at doing a specific concept. Pretty much combine the expertise of both pony and animagine without training or merging. Don't know too much about it as I just woke up to it myself.

Been trying to merge Pony and Animagine again and finally succeeded in getting it to remember chuubas. I feel like they have a higher likelyhood to just not gen a character at all, but when they do, the anatomy and such seems to be better.

Pony is probably not doing that much, as the ratio is like 80:20 to 90:10 for Animagine, but I wanna believe it's not just the Loras.

Comfy wizards is there a way to toggle a connection to be made between nodes at a click? I'm having to reroute my stuff every time I want to use controlnet and I'm not sure of a better method to do it? Like my prompts go into the ksampler, and when controlnet is enabled I have to run the outbound stuff into hte ksampler and remake the connections.

Really, it depends on your total workflow. Lot's of ways to do it but you can always just leave the controlnet stuff in the workflow, put them in a group, and use rgthree's fast group bypass.

So it's got basic stuff, goes into ksampler and the ksampler diffuses it out to upscales. Using rgthree node manager to disable ones I'm not using or want to use currently.

If I want to use controlnet I have to make the positive and negative prompts back into the ksampler since it breaks the connection if I try to have both the normal prompt and that one into the ksampler. So like I'm looking for a node or something that just acts as a toggle channel that both controlnet / pos & neg go into and when I toggle it it makes the connection into the ksampler for them without me having to reroute all the time.

Model wise, it's simple merges, together with a few Loras, however the VAE is completely Animagine, and the CLIP is 100% Animagine sent through some of the Loras to add their CLIP weights. I had to use the Animagine VAE, as the pony Vae just completely mangled the image, even if the models were merged 50/50. And the CLIP I used, as otherwise it forgets what the characters/chuubas are.
So, all in all: Simple model merge, with Animagine VAE and (slightly altered)CLIP.

Yeah, it's rumored that that's behind GPT nowadays.

That model was trained on a lot of classical and modern artists, you can trigger their styles with a couple of tags, there's a google doc on that model page on civitai that lists all of them and the tags used to trigger styles.

Sorry I thought that image was still Exquisite details, I started switching models halfway. I saw exquisitedetails in metadata but it was Hires, didn't notice the model was amour bold.

Oddly enough that model also knows a lot of the same artists so it still might work, I made a wildcard for Exquisite details some time ago https://files.catbox.moe/mg1vjn.txt to test styles, might be worth trying it on that one too.

It's not that odd. The artist doc on exquisitedetails civitai page is actually artists known by base SD1.5. Pretty sure exquisite doesn't even recognize some of them, but still much better than regular NAI mixes.
