I feel like it's not drawn/modeled well. It could have been great if it wasn't for the oversized ears, unrealistic horns, contrast between different colored eyes and fancy hair, etc. It is just my opinion.

I dunno man. The design/model sucks. She's just loveable because of her personality and skills. If she had a good model she'd be 10x as good. It's fine because Irys is awesome, but man, Cover really fucked her. Same is true for Sana, though Sana doesn't have Irys qualities to compensate for it.

It's literally just the shading.

You're used to basically cel shading on vtubers. IRyS has something more towards "realistic" shading, so it looks slightly more like a real human than you're used to, but still with the form of an anime girl.

The whole uncanny valley thing is an innate fear of things that aren't *quite* human. You can insert nightmare fuel here about why humans evolved that.

But it's just a bias due to your expectations; more "realistic" than typical vtuber, but if you put her next to a human, she's not even vaguely close enough to trigger that uncanny response. So the feeling typically goes away pretty quick.

It's the eyes for me. The different coloured eyes make it look like each one is staring off in a different direction. If both eyes were the same colour it would improve the design a lot, I think.
