I think that's because of the usual asian mentality of "you can always work harder and things will work out". She does work a LOT. She has people in art streams complaining about being bad all the time, which must be frustrating when you spend 70/80 hours a week working with 2/3 jobs. Even if art didn't work out, she worked seriously to have a backup plan. At that point it's hard to feel empathy for people that do absolutely nothing but complain about their bad situation
