And you don't even have to play violin to see that those Lunasa drawings are pretty atrocious.

I started playing the violin because of Touhou too. We were there in the Lunasa thread, too bad it 404'd. Though I started two months ago and can't really play any songs I want yet. But well, at least I can play Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star in like, six different ways!

As for how the violin usually is in the pictures, yeah, you pretty much start to realize that every picture seems to portray them holding it wrong. But it's not really a big deal, before I learned about proper posture, I used to think said pictures looked great, so maybe that's the whole point of it. Looking good, not looking right.

The Prismrivers can play their instruments without touching them, so I think you can hand-wave Lunasa.

Funny, because touhou made me start piano a year ago and the violin a month ago. Sure, I'm bad, but I found some kind of talent, as I'm much better than I should be for a month of playing (although that could be due to me playing all day everyday).

Prismriver drawings are horribly atrocious when you notice all the mistakes though, as they were made (most of the time) by graphical artists with close to no knowledge of how to hold musical instruments.

As a violist, I can sympathize. It would only take 2 minutes on google to discover how to hold a string instrument! Right, back on topic. Touhou, and all of the yet-untranslated related media is the reason that I'm trying to learn Japanese.

I played metal a lot in high school then grew out of that shit after I graduated and didn't touch my guitar for two years. Now I'm learning how to play again because I heard a Touhou arrangement that I liked

I took up the guitar like 10 years ago due to Guilty Gear.

I used to play guitar when I was young but quit because it started to bore me.
Touhou music gave me a reason to start learning again.

I found that most Touhou songs sound incredible on a sax, so now I'm learning my favorites by ear.

I like Sakuya's the most at the moment.

Violin is a rocky road. If theres something big that I've learned that I wish I knew its that you are gonna have to branch out of using your first finger to guide the rest of your fingers into position.

Because some songs (like infinite nightmare) require you to use your 2nd 3rd and 4th fingers and your 1st one doesnt get used in some parts.

Dunno if that makes sense or not.

I've always loved card games because my mom played them with me all the time, but I got a deck of touhou cards awhile ago and it makes it even more fun.

I'm probably going to get a second so I can play 2 deck solitaire games.

I used to play the trumpet, but I stopped. I feel like I should start again so I can play ZUN trumpet crap, but it would be too hard. Gardening might be nice, but bugs are gross.
