Jpop peaked in the 2000s. It really started to suck once all these generic, mediocre, cookie-cutter Jpop groups started getting manufactured by these huge, soulless talent agencies and corporations and flooded the industry with them through hyper commercialization. They all more or less look and sound the same. None of them write their own music or lyrics and there's zero artistic integrity. Some of them might be talented singers or dancers but it's obviously more about the image and aesthetic rather than the actual substance of the music. Not to mention the toxic nature of the industry and fans who exploit them, abuse them, stalk them, objectify them, and sexualize the hell out of them, even though some of these girls are actually underage. The whole Jpop industry is toxic and controlling and creepy. There's even been incidents of violence against idols by crazy fans and abuse and exploitation by idol agencies. The only Jpop group besides Babymetal that's actually good is Morning Musume and their best stuff was their early work in the late 90s and early 2000s. If you're genuinely still listening to Jpop in 2022, you're either a total idiot with no taste, a creepy horny pedophile weeb, or both. Japan has lots of great music but 99% of it is not Jpop idol crap. Listen to alternative idol groups instead like Atarashii Gakko or better yet, check out real Japanese bands and artists like Band-Maid, Nemophila, Hanabie, Otoboke Beaver, Melt-Banana, Shonen Knife, etc. These are real bands with real talented musicians that actually write their own songs, write their own lyrics, and play their own instruments extremely well. Also, their fans aren't creepy weirdos because these groups are not part of the Jpop idol industry. Therefore, they are not advertised to all the horny pedos and weebs.
