For "/a/-related" stuff, I always have good luck with my Marimite and Simoun threads. Those series have doujin games and/or VNs, plus they are also light novels, and manga. For "/v/-related" stuff, I have luck with any 2D games.

Moot said that /jp/ is for "stuff like Touhou" and I take this literally. First, think of a series. Can it fit in both /a/ and /v/ (sup Touhou)? If yes, then it also belongs in /jp/.

The shit we would see would be only Baka-tsuki stuff and I guess, 12 kingdoms, Ballad of a shinigami and maybe Crest of the stars.

The only light novels I'm interested in are the Boogiepop series.

Is there a place to download light novels? If it isn't easily available, it won't go far.

Addendum-- RAW light novels.

>> No.1359960

I wish my Japanese was good enough to read light novels without looking in a dictionary ever two minutes.

Just buy them and we'll have something to work with. Otherwise enjoy your baka-tsuki wait and faggotry. Seriously, Spice and Wolf LN translation project was ended because the translator got pissy over how one would translate a compound kanji.

Jim Breen is pretty easy to use every two minutes.

If you're asking me, the novels in Baka tsuki are more then good enough for discussions.

I wish I could read at all beyond "hello", "how are you" and various phrases that are common in h-doujins and games.

I recall a discussion on post-split /a/, before summer hit. A few people thought that moot should've just left /a/ the way it was, or at least moot should've kept the drama down to a minimum when he announced the split.

What does /jp/ think of this?

See >>1359997. It solves some of the problems with /jp/, but it definitely wouldn't help /a/ with its problems. If anything it would make them worse, and the things /jp/ talks about would get overwhelmed with things like Code Geass that already dominate /a/.

I do miss being able to talk about anything in the otaku subculture in one place, but there are problems with it.

I thought Moot was being a little silly about the whole "it's unfortunate that we have to put up with crap like Touhou and VNs and figs" deal. If you're going to make the board, just make the board and lay down the rules. Not a big deal, I just would have done it differently.

You're lucky I live near a Kinokuniya.
Of course, if I start doing translations, there's no way I'm going to work with anybody else. Who needs a TEAM to translate pure text with a few images?

>> No.1360054

There's been 8 fucking ronery threads on /a/ in the past, what, 4 hours?

Jesus they were fucking HORRIBLE.

>> No.1360097

Why am I the only one volunteering to do stuff?

Somehow I doubt it's because I'm the last to start...

I'd be happy to help if I knew the language or had access to relevant material
