I've been going to /a/ more often lately, more than to /jp/ for their strike witches threads. What I've noticed is that how /jp/ can sometimes be a stagnant pool of shit, /a/ is a constant waterfall of shit so you aren't constantly looking at the same shit over and over, just minor variations of the same shit.

The split was for the best. Still, a little nostaglia now and then is fine.

For "/a/-related" stuff, I always have good luck with my Marimite and Simoun threads. Those series have doujin games and/or VNs, plus they are also light novels, and manga. For "/v/-related" stuff, I have luck with any 2D games.

Moot said that /jp/ is for "stuff like Touhou" and I take this literally. First, think of a series. Can it fit in both /a/ and /v/ (sup Touhou)? If yes, then it also belongs in /jp/.

I understand that since /jp/ is so broad, that things can work like a double-sided sword, but I really don't mind. The variety is quite nice.

I've been spending time on /m/ recently and it kinda has degenerated into the faggotry we see with Touhou shit. I guess this rot that /jp/ is experiencing is kinda rot from a stiff user base that refuses to change.

I have a particular vested interest in seeing more content on the board, in that I don't play VN's or Touhou. Not that I don't save the images and fap to the promotions like the rest of /jp/, though.

Not that I hate them or anything, I just can't be bothered to sit down and play them; I just dislike reading on my computer screen.

Problems with /a/:
- Moves too fast
- Popular 1-2 series overpowering all other content
- Too much posting without lurking, and encouragement of that practice with lists, etc.

Problems with /jp/:
- Too much of the same (75% Touhou, 15% TYPE-MOON, 5% /n/, 5% actual fresh content)
- Elitist weeaboos who think it's cool to use Japanese words in English sentences
- Content nazis who try to enforce /touhou/
