I don't wanna be a tribalfag but Nijisanji's management is just objectively better and as a fan of both Hololive and Nijisanji it's impossible for me to pretend they're the same just for the sake of unity. They have much better permissions and freedom which leads to fans being more loyal.

HoloEN's girls aren't bad streamers but if you've watched one of their streams you've watched them all, it's just Minecraft and fotm games, all collabs are self-contained in the Hololive bubble and they aren't allowed to do 90% of their non-gaming stream ideas due to management blocking them. NijiEN streams have greater variety which means their fans are less likely to skip out on streams. Even their lower effort streams can potentially become high quality due to spontaneous collabs and more chat interaction.

That doesn't mean NijiEN is more successful, they'll probably never overtake HoloEN, and Hololive has done a good job creating a brand that appeals to a wide variety of non-vtuber fans due to their "safe" content that doesn't filter too many people. It's just a question of what you prefer in a vtuber, freedom and creativity or consistency and family-friendly content.

On the other hand I have to question if NijiEN's style would be sustainable if they blew up to HoloEN's size. I could see management becoming more strict as they get more popular to prevent anything dangerous. Of course Mito does carry the company on her shoulders and still has total freedom to do whatever the fuck she wants so it might not matter. Anykara might just value freedom that much that they're willing to lose money over it.
