I think on some levels EN audiences are so abused that they've become used to their chuubas being distant at best and horrid cunts at worst, so people see a girl being nice and it wows them and even makes them suspicious.

I understand him, to be honest. Between rrats, real life yabs, and my own schizophrenia, I definitely enjoy chuubas less than a year ago, and that enjoyment is colored by what I know. I think you can see it in the Archive as well - early fluff, smut and romance had a sort of wide-eyed, innocent appreciation for the Holos and for EN in particular that's not really a thing anymore even though more recent pieces seriously raised the bar in terms of originality and quality of prose.
