Things aren't that simple for HoloEN which is a different world than indie vtubers. They work under a strict NDA and Cover didn't hesitate to fire a first gen Hololive member that helped build up the company for 5 years. Whether it's contract disputes or issues with management there are certain subjects that are off limits.

The "health" breaks started to become frequent in 2022 with Gura, Sana, and Ina. The EN talents were clearly upset over something and they were noticeably depressed after Sana's "graduation". The malicious compliance was getting so bad in the winter that Yagoo replaced the EN project manager and started attending their meetings.

I know one actual Gura fan who is trans and a chuuba themselves. They were a low 2view streamer for over half a decade before they decided to become a chuuba. This is a person that works in the game industry for a very big company in a public facing role. They're excessively paranoid and hostile to their community from time to time, which has chased off many of their supporters and kept them as a low 2view. Besides all that, they have a very hyper-sexualizing personality, and always make everything creepy and sexual, always lusting after characters to the point that it's uncomfortable. That EN talents were burning out 2 years ago might directly relate to why Gura keeps going on health breaks. When you add the mysterious hiatus breaks this has included most of the EN branch. Even recently HoloEN keeps delaying their original songs so it's not only Gura that has been acting fishy.

As for Holostars even they have contract issues that can take years. The Cover business model is built on merch sales and even for a Japanese company they are extremely reluctant to make changes.
