It will be extremely hard for Holo to try something like this, without blatantly copying Nijibaseball. A lot of the hype for it stems from
- japs love baseball a retarded amount
- it's a tournament arc (there's a draft, training weeks, finale)
- the baseball players are Nijis so there's an extra attachment to the teams like how you name your XCOM characters after your friends

There's also the problem of split viewers. Niji's Apex tournament "underperformed" because some people would rather watch their Oshi's POV rather than the main channel's commentary. The game they use for Nijibaseball allows for 1 shared POV so the views are all funneled onto 1 channel.

Thinking of sports games that allow you to create players, most of these characters are male sports players too. Niji's are probably more fine with naming male characters with female niji names and pretending they're female, but I'm not sure about Holos.

And lastly, after how Aqua fucking cried for getting #2 place in Towa's Mario kart tournament, I wouldn't be surprised if Cover's managers are super anal about hosting more tournaments. They don't give a fuck that fans loved the event and the emotions enhanced the experience. They're probably too scared that some holomems take it too seriously and some yabs might happen. Holo managers are fucking cowards anyways.

Nijis does big events with important figures means high numbers. 8 separate chuubas with their fanbases would tune in to watch them, accounting for tourists and normies too. Kuzuha, their biggest liver is playing too which means an additional increase from last year's peak. From what I've heard, there's going to be a 3 week training session where all of them are gonna train on-stream, so kuzuha is expected to have high numbers during it. I wonder if he could practice alongside his CR cup tourney. If they got 30k more than last year for the draft, then it's possible this year's grand final will have 220k. Theoretically, Holos can do something like NJU (year end concert with 20+ holos) and get 200k+, but Cover will rather sell tickets and make money instead.

On a separately related numbers note, it's cute that after round 5, the picks are determined randomly by roulette. That way you don't have awkward moments like Kuzuha not being able to name more than 40 Nijis or literally not knowing who to pick/forced to pick someone he's never talked to before.

>I don't think she's the only one with a Japanese channel name
It's not the Japanese name, google can transliterate it, it is the "ロゼ" in "ローゼンタール".
She pretty much split her brand in the English version and the Japanese version.

As far as Google is concerned, there are two "musical artists"

>アキロゼ (aka AkiRoze), the Aki you know and love, with an Youtube Channel, a Twitter account and multiple hits on Youtube Music
>Some literally who "Aki Rose" which gets mentioned once in a whie for some reason

PIc related, it is not the fact her channel name is in Japanese (it hurts too, but not that much) but the fact the transliteration for her name is "Aki Roze".

All she has to do to fix it tho is
1) change her channel name to add her favored English version (Aki Rose)
2) add it to the title of her streams
3) insist that her fans call her "Aki Rose" from now on, and add to the clip titles and any post mentioning her

Actually, since we're on the topic. Of names.....

In an incognito search of YouTube, reflect gives Gura's song as the first hit, but Sparks doesn't get a hit of the song at all and instead throws up Sparks by Coldplay.

I wonder if part of the reason her song is doing poorly(besides the quality of the song) is because it shares its name with such an already established song, whereas there's nothing quite that big already under the name Reflect.

>>6669912
>Would having name uniformity improve the SEO for all channels?
No, it is very rare to "improve" SEO of anything. What is really easy is to "hurt" one's SEO

As far as Google is concerned there is
>アキ・ローゼンタール, aka アキロゼ (aka Aki roZe)
This person is the owner of the youtube channel, the one uploading music to the platforms and owner of the Twitter.

Then there is this other lady
> Aki Rosenthal
which has vtuber wiki pages, gets clipped once in a while but that Google can't find anything about her at all.

You and I know they are one and the same but as far as Google (and other search engines are concerned, like for instance Playboard) is concerned, they don't have anything to do with each other.

Here is her "SEO" on playboard

>Aki Rose: https://playboard.co/en/search?q=Aki%20Rose
>Aki Rosenthal: https://playboard.co/en/search?q=Aki%20Rosenthal
>アキロゼ: https://playboard.co/en/search?q=%E3%82%A2%E3%82%AD%E3%83%AD%E3%82%BC
>アキ・ローゼンタール: https://playboard.co/en/search?q=%E3%82%A2%E3%82%AD%20%E3%83%AD%E3%83%BC%E3%82%BC%E3%83%B3%E3%82%BF%E3%83%BC%E3%83%AB

I will save you all a click and make it a handy pick. The only "first spot" for Aki's channel is searching with something NOBODY in the west will ever do: アキロゼ

FUCKING WOOHOOLAD MOGS HER SEO ON "Aki Rosenthal", at least on Playboard
>NO, REALLY, FUCKING WOOHOOLAD

Playboard likely uses basic bitch "full text serach" for their searches, Google is smarter than that but even then.
This shows that all she needs is the tiniest tweak in her image to achieve the level of success her talent deserves

> no, really, fucking Woohoolad
I already sent this to the contact form but if you Rosetai have a better way to get this issue to her (fan Discord or something) do it.

All she needs is to change her channel name to
> Aki Rose Ch. アキロゼ
and request her fans to refer to her in clips and other written material as "Aki Rose" exclusively from now on when writing in latin script

>You are a false flagger anyway so whatever.
lol accusing me of being a falseflagger just because I'm not stupid enough to think Niji's poor daily numbers mean they're dead in the water. It might help for you to go outside of the holo bubble to see what others are doing. Niji is normie shit and their big events generate arguably more hype than Holo's.

>They can only sniff these kind of numbers when they funnel the entire company onto one channel.
I'm comparing the year end highlight reels, you dumbfuck. Niji's highlight reel is currently at 49k. Hololive's highlight reel last night peaked at 22k. Both are just clips from the past year so it's a level playing field.

>Hololive gets these numbers with fucking outfit reveals, lol.
You can't seriously think maintaining an entire stream at 130k for 2 hours is comparable to a holo costume reveal that spikes up to 100k for 20s? Please don't tell me you're this retarded.
Marine's 3D concert is genuinely impressive. But don't say stupid shit like Calli's costume reveal spiking to 130k for 20s is comparable to the Nijibaseball stream today which stayed at 135k for 2 hours.

It's all ad views.
They started the ad campaign immediately after the trailer went up instead of a couple days later like during Wave 1.
Even their twitter page has seen a drastic reduction in activity compared to wave 1 (around 1/3 of wave 1)
The actual growth rate for the youtube trailer for wave 1 was around 50k views a day before the ad campaign.
When they started pumping ads it was around 200 - 250k a day.

Yes, I brought up the timeslot difference in my original post, but that alone isn't an excuse for Niji literally doubling Holo's peak (It's at 50k now). If you watched the recap last night and are watching the Niji one right now, it's really easy to tell why one is much more hype than the other.

For a true analysis, we'll need to wait for 24 hours and compare the VOD views because there might be EOPs who are watching it after. But just imo, I'm liking Niji's reel much more despite not even liking Niji. There's just more variety, production value, and hype.

In contrast, the Holo's time slot started at 12:30 AM with a Holostar while the Nijis began at 11:30 PM coming out swinging with one of their strongest musical units signed to a major record company.

This, after Coco announced her graduation, both her and Kanata saw their subcounts skyrocket. Lots of people subbed to Kanata and watched her zatsudans for emotional support. I know, since I was there. She got like 80k subs in that month, which is like almost double her usual amount. She also got 14k the day Coco graduated (July 1).

Gura did get 44k for her last karaoke, but they are so rare nowadays idk if I'll call them normal. She mostly does members only karaokes.

The usual story anon, she used to get 8-10k alongside mito and rin during their early days, but as soon as better streamers get recruited she started to lag behind (same as rin) and this isn't exclusive to nijis as holos have the same issue with sora and roboco. In the end they are still vtubers (streamers) so singing ability alone is not enough,
As for her music, her solo album sells up to 3-4k copies, so you decide.

>> No.6677159

Makes sense to me.

Success in main-stream music is dictated by CD and ticket sales, and they don't have to use Livestreaming as advertising for their brand if they have access to mainstream advertising venues after all.

There's a table that shows the top5 streamer numbers for Niji and Holo from 2018 onward. The old guard like Sora and Robo used to pull higher numbers, but as new members came on their numbers dropped as well even as the total number of viewers increased.

Firstly, like >>6677765 said, there's no desire to push for a bigger audience. They're comfortable with what they have now and the respect they get as OG senpais. Like Sora gets 15% the audience of Pekora and Marine, but they still kiss the ground she walks on and treat her like a legend.

Secondly, inclining for real is really fucking hard. Streaming is affected by so many factors, like game choice, stream personality, the audience's interest in watching...etc. A lot of the times, we see holos continually get more and more subs, but their viewerbase is the same. It's likely that as more people sub and watch them, an equal amount is falling off and moving onto a different hobby. For a permanent incline, you need to get much more new viewers than you are losing old ones. Most vtubers are happy even without inclining, because retaining what you have is already hard enough.

>> No.6678363

>>6678002
Sora in particular was always more focused on doing live shows and music similar to Azki.
Roboco has always just "been there", she seems like the most laid back in Hololive. A lot of the old guard in Hololive seem to be there mostly to have fun with their friends or just do whatever they want in their solo streams.

Until third gen, being a streamer at hololive was being billed as a part time job that you could do in between school or your actual day job. The only actual requirements is that you stream three times a week for at least an hour each, so yes quite a number of the earlier generations do treat it like a part time job or a hobby. It's not until 3rd gen that they really started trying to push them as a proper career

Yeah, it's not exactly the goal of every VTuber to be a full-time dedicated VLiver. Their interests may lie elsewhere or they see the money is better in other areas of the entertainment industry. The VTuber industry is still relatively young and they gotta explore their options as virtual entertainers.

To be honest, most of them are just chilling, having fun and interacting with their friends. Most of them are lonely and longing for company as well which helps. The fact that they're not forcing themselves to stream is the reason why their stream are so entertaining and fun to watch.
