Hi anons!

Im a starting vtuber and I'm a bit sad today. I've been streaming almost daily for a month and I can hardly get people to join my streams or follow. I'm always really happy when someone joins and interacts in chat tho! It's just that it feels quite lonely sometimes.
I have a cute model. My mama is very talented, and I worked very hard to rig it as good as I could.
I don't have any special talent, but I'm always trying to give my best. I use some time to put videos together when I'm not streaming too. I try to promote in different platforms but it doesn't seem to be of much help either.

I'm just wondering if I'm doing something wrong, and what do anons take in consideration when joining a stream for the first time?

Thanks for reading

1. Design. If it sucks I don't even click
2. stream content. If it's singing I always click to see what kind of talent there is. If it's games I don't click unless it's something I rarely see vtubers play like say, Rimworld. If it's art I try to stay a while because I like artists of any skill.
3. voice. If it sucks I stop watching
4. streaming ability. If you're silent or complaining about viewer count I stop watching

I see! I think I'm good on 1 and 4. I can't be objective on 3 because people tend to dislike their own voices.
About 2, I'm still not confident enough to sing live, although I'm working on some covers that I'll put up soon. And the games I play are actually quite generic just because I feel more comfortable about my skills. I usually play the indie games offline. Maybe I should do it the other way around. Thanks anon.

I see! Most people have different preferences it seems. Some anons enjoy calm streams, other lean for funny ones, others go for hyper, etc. I guess it's about branding yourself outside of the stream or video so people can actually *click* knowing what type of content they're looking for. As for personality, the only somewhat concrete thing I can say is don't be a basic bitch. You can have the shittest or most normalfag of tastes, but just be grounded in something. Don't just go with the flow or with whatever seems cool, be an actual person instead since that shit kind of shows. Though, all of that only matters if you're trying to be genuine. >asks for actual advice without shilling herself
I kneel. I will give you couple advices for that.
1. Don't stream on YouTube.
I'm not watching Twitch, but I see that it is better for smaller creators. After year of watching popular vtubers I've never got any recommendations with small indie. On Twitch people are watching equally for games as for people.
2. Find niche that is not popular with vtubers, but would have quite following.
In my opinion currently Grand Strategy games are undersaturated (EU4, HOI4, Victoria 2, Civ5), but don't force yourself if you don't like this. Think what you enjoy and be creative with that. Minecraft, FPSes and rythm games are for big numbers to make bigger numbers. You can browse /v/ for recommendations by those hipster autists.
Also take opportunity as noone gives shit about you, so you can play heavily copyright restricted games like Personas.
3. Be actually likable.
You are fat nerd that is too pessimistic and misantropic to find work, so your only hope is to live of playing video games? Give up. If you weren't popular in school, you won't be on the internet. Even as a retard to laugh at. There is too many retards now.
4. Try to find content creator friends.
You will share knowledge and collab. They may also find you other, bigger friends and they may fill you in spot for their mass Among Us collab or something.
It is not some "sucking balls for views" as they are usually fun to be around and it is easy to form genuine friendships without ulterior motives only.

2. I realize that now after reading most anons replies. I though being good at more popular games is an advantage, but it makes sense that I won't even have the chance to show my skill if there is a thousand other chuubas playing the same.
3. I think I'm okay. I'm a hardworking person, slightly on the introvert side irl, but I really enjoy interacting with people that I share common interests with. as other anons have said try to play games that not many other chuubas are playing but don't force yourself if you don't like them it'll show (grand strategy requires a very specific kind of autism) also shill yourself here but pretend to be a saviourfag that found a new 2view to save, beeing a chuuba that openly posts here is too strong of a schizo magnet. /vt/ is smaller than reddit or twitter but more willing to give small chuubas a chance

Take some advice from here but never advertise yourself as a /here/ chuuba unless you somehow think this is a mentally stable fanbase.

I have a couple friends that I really treasure. They join sometimes but can't always make it. My roommate doesn't want to introduce me to the rest of her friends because we prefer to be unrelated to each other.
It would feel quite dirty to promote myself that way. I've been a lurker /here/ for a while and you can easily notice when someone is falseflagging or trying to promote themselves under a fake anon pretense. I wouldn't feel comfortable doing that even if I knew there was no backlash.

Hmm since all anons seem to be pushing rts I might give them a try offstream first. I'm probably misjudging them because they look similar to Civ V.

Your roomate is a greaseball tranny with no friends until you prove us wrong
if youre actually a girl stop using /here/ terminology to look cool, post link or gtfo

She's struggling to get viewers, and it seems she doesn't hate menheras/schizos. It actually might be her best bet to promote herself as a /here/ if she really can't make it the normie route.

>Several people asks/wonder about OP's gender, never mentioned
>OP gives extensive responses to many anons, but ignores the gender question deliberately

I think the answer is pretty obvious.

I've been ignoring messages with a negative connotation. Wondering is not a question. I'm a female. I though it was obvious and irrelevant to the topic.

Thank you everyone who shared your opinion and gave me some advice. I feel a bit more encouraged now. I'll take in consideration everything said and will start to put it in practice right away.

I didn't expect the thread to be ongoing for so long. I think it's about time to let it rest.

Thanks anons. <3

Did she... Did she really just reveal her gender and then leave us?
After 7 hours of thread?
Just like that?

That's fucked up, anon chuuba...

It was nice meeting you. I hope I can stumble onto your stream some day. You seem like a nice and honest person with clear expectations.

I'll name you Sayori-chan for now, so if we ever meet again, please respond to that name so I know you're doing well.

Please, respond to one last thing before leaving. Are you gonna play Deltarune tonight/anytime soon on stream?

For the love of god just fucking let the thread die already. She's probably long gone and even if she's still reading it's very unlikely she'll reply after a farewell

Sounds like something Sayori-chan would say
