Actually there used to be many niji clippers before the cof, but then chinks came and changed everything. With that group Hololive Moments alone they could throw out a lot of content daily since there was like a dozen chinks working on the channel, much more than any other clip channel ever could. The vast amount of content, be it translated clips or fan videos from bilibili flooded the EOP YouTube algorithm. Eventually many of these niji clippers simply stopped or swapped to Hololive. It's not only that though, Hololive had a lot of stars aligned to make their incline in the west possible, but that's only to show how circumstantial that was, and how difficult it would be for Nijisanji (or any other company) to replicate it.
On a side note, I think Nijisanji might catch up in the west (it will take a while though), NijiEN is doing well even if numberfags tell you otherwise. Imagine coming really late to a market which 95% is dominated by one company and managing to secure a ~20% share in the first couple months. If you think that's not much, try looking at other groups such as Prism Project, Phase Connect or whatever else is out there.
