Went from the VG Cats forum to /b/ in 2005 when I was 16. Swapped /b/ for /a/ and then /a/ for /co/ & /m/. Left 4chan for tumblr in 2012, left tumblr for twitter when tumblr banned porn, got into chuubas in the summer of 2020 due to lockdown, which more or less also made me quit twitter (at least as a place for discussion). Used r/hololive until the Taiwan yab, then came here.

I came to 4chan from RubyQuest, iirc. Been a while so I can't when for sure, just that it was sometime after it finished.
With Vtubers I watched Ai and the other big ones back then (I still miss Luna) and then fell off when most of them switched to streaming. Didn't come back until Hololive Yonkisei debuted. Which is funny, because I rarely watch Hololive at all these days. And no, I'm not a butthurt Tatsunoko (Although I do think Coco leaving was one of the many red flags for the direction Hololive is going), I'm Heimin.

Have used chans since 2013, not all the time though, I left for several months a few times.
Got into vtubers in May 2020. I already knew some Japanese and have done more reps since then so enjoyed HoloJP, some Nijis and some indies. I was skeptical about HoloEN at first, still like JP chuubas more but EN are nice sometimes.
Started visiting /jp/ vtuber threads shortly after Myth debut, for some reason it never occurred to me to look for vtuber discussion on 4chan before then.

Because of Hololive specifically, I actually started browsing /hlg/ the same day gen 5 was announced. It was totally a coincidence though. I started getting Hololive videos recommended to me on YouTube when everyone else was too, and after I figured out they were part of an agency and not indies I remembered /jp/ existed from the Kizuna Ai days so I checked it out and lo and behold /hlg/ existed. I was having fun learning the thread culture and after a couple hours gen 5 was announced. I never used /jp/ regularly back during 2018 or so, so this was my first experience posting regularly in vtuber threads.
For that reason I don't hate /jp/ like a lot of people here do. I remember them being people passionate about their hobby that actually tried to gatekeep. Not like this drama shitposting board now that obsesses over numbers. I like NijiEN a lot now so I don't post there like I used to, but I have good memories of posting there. That was back when Nousagi were easily the most cancerous western fanbase and not Chumbuds, I think people forget how bad they were on the western side of things.

With Coco’s Meme Review being a thing, I went to R**dit and stayed there for the memes and fanart (and I still find them unironically funny unless overused); never commented on r/hololive
I was looking for vtuber discussion and I somehow ended in /cow/ and got addicted to the reading the gossip, and when I was looking for more I discovered /vt/ talking about Kiara and even believed the rrats until I watched streams and called bullshit
I would take breaks but still take a peek into the board; I would stop using R**dit in late February due to the reasons like circlejerks full of strawmen arguments and I wasn’t really fond of the anime discussion so I slowly moved on to Twitter, then /vt/
Nowadays, I decided to try to be chill and stay in the generals and ignore most bait/rrats/shitposts, and I think my experience with the board is improving. I also learned how to visit other boards like /a/, /v/ and the /b/ loli threads

I have a question: Why is my post identified as spam when I type R**dit uncensored? I think it also happens with /cow/.farm

My first exposure to chuubas was when KizunaAi was first gaining traction. I got bored of her 3 months in since I can't speak a lick of japanese and since the subs took a while to be placed in the vids. Enter July 2020, I had the coco miko english freedom lady clip recommended to me which made me a geniune fan of hololive. That said the only streams I've attended even remotely regularly have been Hirasaka Mei, Prune, Mashiro Yuki and Shishiro Botan. Nene sometimes, too.
