I came to 4chan from RubyQuest, iirc. Been a while so I can't when for sure, just that it was sometime after it finished.
With Vtubers I watched Ai and the other big ones back then (I still miss Luna) and then fell off when most of them switched to streaming. Didn't come back until Hololive Yonkisei debuted. Which is funny, because I rarely watch Hololive at all these days. And no, I'm not a butthurt Tatsunoko (Although I do think Coco leaving was one of the many red flags for the direction Hololive is going), I'm Heimin.

Because of Hololive specifically, I actually started browsing /hlg/ the same day gen 5 was announced. It was totally a coincidence though. I started getting Hololive videos recommended to me on YouTube when everyone else was too, and after I figured out they were part of an agency and not indies I remembered /jp/ existed from the Kizuna Ai days so I checked it out and lo and behold /hlg/ existed. I was having fun learning the thread culture and after a couple hours gen 5 was announced. I never used /jp/ regularly back during 2018 or so, so this was my first experience posting regularly in vtuber threads.
For that reason I don't hate /jp/ like a lot of people here do. I remember them being people passionate about their hobby that actually tried to gatekeep. Not like this drama shitposting board now that obsesses over numbers. I like NijiEN a lot now so I don't post there like I used to, but I have good memories of posting there. That was back when Nousagi were easily the most cancerous western fanbase and not Chumbuds, I think people forget how bad they were on the western side of things.

I mean I know a lot of them migrated to twitter, but you're forgetting all the SJWs, commies, wiccans, stoners, normies etc. Thing about tumblr is that it was the ultimate echo chamber, you're generally only gonna see what you're interested in, whereas say on twitter the biggest accounts and events are always going to be shoved in your face unless you're very selective about who you follow.

>Vtubers
I knew about them since HoloEN appeared, but only payed attention when I took notice of the Gura-Venti drama at late September and started watching Hololive streams and clips around early October

>4chan
Started lurking around late December-early January, made my first post in mid February, and been posting regularly since early-mid April

Long story:
With Coco’s Meme Review being a thing, I went to R**dit and stayed there for the memes and fanart (and I still find them unironically funny unless overused); never commented on r/hololive
I was looking for vtuber discussion and I somehow ended in /cow/ and got addicted to the reading the gossip, and when I was looking for more I discovered /vt/ talking about Kiara and even believed the rrats until I watched streams and called bullshit
I would take breaks but still take a peek into the board; I would stop using R**dit in late February due to the reasons like circlejerks full of strawmen arguments and I wasn’t really fond of the anime discussion so I slowly moved on to Twitter, then /vt/
Nowadays, I decided to try to be chill and stay in the generals and ignore most bait/rrats/shitposts, and I think my experience with the board is improving. I also learned how to visit other boards like /a/, /v/ and the /b/ loli threads

I have a question: Why is my post identified as spam when I type R**dit uncensored? I think it also happens with /cow/.farm

I've been posting chuubas since before /hlg/ schism. If you're talking about 4chan in general, then since 2011

started browsing /jp/ /a/ /v/ /lit/ /r9k/ and /tttt/ around 2010 and decided to quit wasting my time here on 2016 to focus on college and a social life, came back to post in /jp/ because of kizuna ai, you truly never leave this place

I only started watching vtubers regularly over the past 2 months, before that I only watched a few clips. I came from other 4chan boards I guess, I posted quite a lot on /adv/, /int/, /jp/, /his/, /lit/, /a/, and some other boards. And Reddit as well, and Facebook a long time ago.

Been here since Hololive discussion was on /jp/. jp tards and their 100,000,000 touhou threads were crying pissing and shitting that jp was being flooded with holoshitters and this hellhole was created.

>> No.9941482

A bit after the debut of holoEN 1, wanted to read discussion in a non circlejerk-like setting(reddit), so I figured one of the boards on 4chan would likely have discussion but I didnt think it would be this popular, i was just expecting like a single thread on /jp/

My first exposure to chuubas was when KizunaAi was first gaining traction. I got bored of her 3 months in since I can't speak a lick of japanese and since the subs took a while to be placed in the vids. Enter July 2020, I had the coco miko english freedom lady clip recommended to me which made me a geniune fan of hololive. My first exposure to 4chan was back in the "fappening" days where nudes of celebrities were leaked here. I pretty much only used 4chan for porn until a couple of months ago desu.

Came here from a youtube video on 4chan, found it funny and stayed. That was some 5 years ago, mainly used /x/. Started watching chuubas since AI started, only got really hooked after watching Korone and Risu once the memevirus got to my country

I've been lurking /here/ since before Nanoha Strikers. I witnessed the devolution of 4chan into a bunch of do nothing cucks who whine all day then piss off to live their lives. All the true keyboard warriors got banned or left. Mainstream social media filled the power vacuum, and the new guard now use their powers for evil. This is m**t's legacy.

The only thing of consequence /vt/'s done lately is make Ollie cry, but that was facilitated by the ID chubas themselves (it was about sending a message) rather than unrelated anons banding together.

Chuubas? October of last year.
4chan? /vp/ somewhere in late 2011. It lowkey wands my heart seeing Mumei bring in a valid excuse to make >Implying Owls are birds jokes.

>> No.9945843

Curious on what 4chan has, didn't really come from anything, because I just stayed on my computer all day watching Hololive and playing games. When I came here, I expected like people actually caring and appreciating the talents themselves, but all I got was bait threads, still a few threads are fun.

Started browsing around 2013-2014, joined the exodus, went back for vtuber discussion.

It kind of does seem like a melting pot at times and in some threads, you catch anons who feel like they've been here for years and the most obvious of newfags all mixed together.

Because its a japanese focused board, the same way /a/ took way longer to go down the shitter than /v/.
Actually, if you look at niche boards like /vst/ its pretty much proof that a western focus is pretty much the main issue, not speed or whatever.

I started LURKing in 2008 and posting in 2009.
For Vtubers I started watching them around late 2019; Gen 4 was new at the time.

That said the only streams I've attended even remotely regularly have been Hirasaka Mei, Prune, Mashiro Yuki and Shishiro Botan. Nene sometimes, too.

I came to 4chan in 2010. I was on /co/ for adventure time. As for vtubers I watched some of the originals years ago but dropped off until the pandemic.

Been on this site from Late 04 (I was here for shit like 6m get on /b/, Towercat, delayclose.jpg) with a few periods where I'm off it for a few years.
Started sniffing around her around Coco's retirement tour to honestly harvest images and memes (the bait fish image folder's steadily growing along with the ogey archives)
