But they're in a lose-lose situation either way because unfortunately people /here/, /there/, /anywhere/ actually wanted to hear something else while holding pitchforks outside of Cover office since Fauna wasn't the only one leaving.
You would think it's very easy to somehow reassure the viewers about the dumpster fire in the corpo with every smoke alarm going off saying otherwise, and on top of that also be a real person who can gives comfort through some sentimental shits like empathy.

IMO they're not friends. It's not the default that genmates are friends IRL. Their characters are, but I think a lot of Hololive talents are less close IRL than the fans assume. Over time they grow apart, too. I don't think Council was ever close. They all kind of did their own thing, especially in the last year. I strongly believe they were briefed by the company on how to respond to Fauna's graduation, to avoid giving away any confidential information, and (importantly) to be brief. That's what literally everyone did. So it's just handling it professionally based on guidelines set by their company, plus the fact that they aren't super close. I don't think any two people in Council have late-night heart-to-hearts or anything. Maybe when they debuted since it's a rush and exciting and you're all bonding over that. But I don't think they hate each other or anything dramatic and silly like that either.
