As for the manga for it, that really doesn't directly use the same kinds of resources it takes to manage the actual chuubas so I would think would run rather independently of talent expansion/recruiting efforts.

It's not impossible that they'll break with that as they have quite a lot of talents to juggle now, but if they don't, then going by Gen 5's debuts Gen 6 is potentially within only a couple months. I'd also think that the EN vsingers thing might come along pretty soon too if that's only gonna be 1-2 people, my assumption is that it'll be an english AZKi but given that they've been steadily remaking AZKi into being much more like a normal Holo, who knows.

Yeah, the initial expansions were quick but I was going by 6-8 based on the most recent gens. They can't just expand forever unless they plan on rivaling Nijisanji directly with havine 100+ talents eventually.

Figuratively looking at how things realistically go, new talents/gens is absolutely the better way to go for profitability/popularity booms etc so I think they'll keep expanding no matter what. It's like say, compare ID1 to ID2. Only Moona ever got even somewhat popular as HoloJPs out of those, and probably half her subs are only because she got insanely lucky and became friends with Peko in her biggest buff game. Now look at ID2 with Ollie already set to eventually rival or pass Moona's subs, income etc. Anya and Reine haven't been growing super fast like Ollie, but Reine is already closing in on Iofi now. I mean, would anyone seriously argue, that Iofi and Risu would have picked up the slack and gained a couple hundred thousand extra subs if ID2 never happened? Is that even conceivable at all realistically? No. If talents didn't catch on already then holding back new additions assuming that it'll help the old ones have time to shine doesn't seem like it'd have any real basis to work out.

If anything, new additions have potential to bring attention to older, forgotten talents by just random chance of interactions. ID2 collabing with ID1, ENs collab with IDs frequently, Mel has collabed with several ENs now which got her tangible boosts etc. Basically the plausible argument is not to rush in a new gen before the most recent one has had time to establish itself, which does make sense, but you can generally see that daily new subs, average views/viewers etc level off within a couple months and it's not like attention would be unfairly taken away from them at that point. I mean a couple months ago the ENs were growing at 5-10k subs a day nonstop but now most of them (besides Gura who has been an outlier the whole time) grow at the same speeds as HoloJPs so quite visibly have cooled down. Hence they recently opened EN2 auditions - there's no longer a danger of pre-emptively deflating hype trains.

AZki had a weird contractual situation too, the EN Vsinger will presumably just work for Cover and I'm not sure they'll be prolific enough to justify a good base salary just by putting stuff out on youtube and itunes. I'll sure they'll either be told to stream to earn their keep or want to do it on their own to take advantage of SCs (especially post-release celebrations).

That may delay the debut of a new JP Gen since even though other branches were created with entertainment in mind, the JP branch still has to separate things between tech and entertainment.

If you have a big name publicly be "let go" like she did as a result of a major company on your niche screwing up big time (a reminder that her leaving coincided with Kizuna getting it's own company and 774 Inc. also cutting ties with them), it's not uncommon for people to scout the talent.
That said, a lot of people working for Hololive and in the earlier generation of vtubers have been streaming together since the Nico Nico days for about 10 years now, they are friends and talk behind the scenes.
I wouldn't be surprised if Polka contacted some friends like Fubuki and went "Yo, things here went south, can you hook me up?" and she pulled a Mio-special for her.

They might not do it for awhile, JP market is already saturated with over 30 girls. The new focus is on EN who are already getting Vsingers AND gen 2 coming, and it will probably continue to expand in that direction for some time, or they may open up a Korean branch. A lot of their current money is probably also going into the new Hololive Alt projects, too.

I have a very big rrat that a black company was actually behind the harassment of Gen 5. Japanese companies especially entertainment companies are notoriously predatory. It's so bad even anime like the Idolm@ster which shows an EXTREMELY optimistic version of the Idol Industry has an arc where a black company hires someone to dig up dirt on an idol and spread rrats.
