You've got to understand how young men are different from older men to understand. Besides a few actual creeps and rapists, most people don't treat older men the same. It's not an age thing, it's even reversed from how it was 10-20 years ago. Today young men turn themselves into the most unappealing version of men you can possibly imagine. They're not just unappealing, but they tend to revel in it, and then blame all their problems on women and minorities. Without a carrot or a stick, guys like that have completely deleted all of their value to society. There is no value in male vtubers, since they're young guys, and now they have to prove they're not like the other young guys, but statistically most of the time they are.
You could engage in the whole discussion too, but it would just break down into the same old problem where they don't own up to anything and definitely don't fix themselves. But why even make that effort? They don't want to change, and it just ends up wasting time and energy to even try to help one of them out. They won't even see it like you're helping them, they will see it like you're attacking them. They just want you to shower them with attention, go out of your way to promote them, then they still resent you for things out of your control.

In my experience, that seems more like an artist availability thing than anything. The people making male vtuber models just always tend to gravitate toward the bishounen style for whatever reason, and most things that diverge from that end up looking amateurish like KongouVT's old live2d looking like a new artist trying to emulate Go Nagai.
But also I think a lot of people have expanded the definition of Bishounen to cover virtually everything at this point. Cy Yu's model for example is very clearly inspired by Gurren Lagann, and yet I've seen people call it bishounen.

As someone who occasionally watches Caspurr and Bettel neither of them actually watch anime anymore and are for the most part massive normies. They are bigger marvel fans than anime fans. Sometimes they'll try out a seasonal anime but always end up dropping it. And it's honestly just a bit dissapointing to me, because I wanted someone exactly as you describe: a jerma or vinesauce-like vtuber that's more weeb adjacent. If it's all character acting and you get attached to the characters, I don't see why it wouldn't make just talking entertaining. If Goku became a real person and started streaming, I'd watch him.
That said, there are definitely male-aimed slice of life series with primarily male casts. Daily Lives of High School Boys, Cromartie, Grand Blue, etc. Could easily have male vtubers to give off that feel, and they arguably exist at least on the JP side.

Unfortunately, I agree, at least for now. But stuff doesn't take THAT long to change. People act like this is how it's always been, but vtubing as it is now is a little more than half a decade old. 3 years ago, male vtubing wasn't radioactive on the EN side like it is now. Hell, for a 3 month period or so after Tempus debuted, it was arguably a legit male-aimed alternative to traditional content creation. Personally, Judge Magni is still the height of the whole medium for me and it would be nice to see other people expand on that.
In a few years, the trends could change again and males could be seen as neutral instead of just bad. Or maybe it'll get even worse after some big rape controversy, who knows.
