I don't know if it's possible to really be a good rapper and also be a vtuber. Mori actually has decent rhythm and her production skills also seem good, but the artifice of Hololive makes it so her lyrics will always be a kind of make-believe that comes off as disingenuous and insincere, even when you can kind of see her real feelings coming through at times. This will sound weird but I almost think Kiara would be able to work together with her on something that had a bit more edge to it given how Kiara flouts the performative aspect of Hololive so much and has this kind of reckless authenticity about her.

Anyways for this cover of King I mostly think Gura was the reason it wasn't very good, Gura can't sing with a lot of aggression and instead of going hard she just went silly because she didn't want to take the song seriously enough. I think what mainly bothers me about this is they're taking an inherently "edgy" kind of song which is already tongue-in-cheek and trying to "clown" on it and act like they're better than it while simultaneously being worse than the original. Like if you're going to do a cover about how uncool King is and how much cooler you are, then you need to be able to rise to the occasion. So the end result was something like a Kidz Bop cover, but instead of kids, it's cringe. Cringe Bop maybe?
