I watch almost exclusively males, I can name the amount of girls I regularly watch on two hands and even then, it's mostly for music/karaoke streams. Why? Yes, I want to watch more but 99% of the EN ones are flaming homosexuals and are insufferable. The good english speaking ones tend to be ID or JP. In general I watch all of the Holostars, a few Niji IDs like Bonbon, he's based, and trying to get into some JP niji males and maybe some of the korean ones. As it stands I don't watch any hololive jp girls, sometimes watch ID and EN girls but the majority of watch time goes into Male chuubas and Niji EN girls. Not into the idol shit unless it's something more pure like Aruran. That's a real idol, not some 30 year old hag (hag love) pandering to pay piggies while playing flavor of the month game.

I do, I mostly watch Holostars and some Nijis and been on the lookout for some indies too, both JP and EN.
I mostly watched female chuubas, mainly Hololive, but eventually I started to get bored of the whole cutesy/dumb act that a lot of them do, the idol angle and how much some of them push for parasocial and GFE shit (the whole yuribait also got a bit tiring after a while), so I eventually started to move towards Niji and males vtubers and found a whole new world with chuubas that entertrained me more (helped that a lot of them are also amazing singers too) and that tended to stay away from many of the things that made me lose interest in female chuubas.
Was hoping NijiEN woud give me more males to watch but unfortunately Anykara pussied out and played extra safe for the first three waves and left the males for last and kinda as an afterthought (or at least it felt that way for me), the girls managed to make up for that a bit, and reignited some of my interest for female vtubers, but that was pretty short-lived since some of them feel like they will be falling into several of the things that turned me off of females chuubas initially, especially now that they are opening memberships, but I will see how things go, but will keep my optimism to a minimun.
At least JP and KR are delivering better on the male front and ID continues to not dissapoint either.

That's why I'm so intetested on NijiEN's malewave. NijiEN are in a weird place where they aren't wildly succesful like HoloEN or Vshoujo, but are currently fairly comfy with 4 digit viewer numbers except for Petra and maybe Rosemi (who seems to be inclining slowly). Wave 3 is gonna dilute the pool even further unless they have some serious banger talents (which is entirely possible), so the malewave is already gonna be in a tough place when they debut, and even vtuber fans who say they're fine with males are probably not gonna be as inclined to watch. I see it going one of three ways - unmitigated disaster with cringe talents, poor viewership numbers with talents that are actually completely fine, or - and this is the least likely but I'd love to see it - a success by NijiEN standards that shakes up the whole vtuber game and the perception of EN chuubas.

Also Vshoujo may potentially hire a male talent or two, could also be interesting but I don't really trust them to hire an actually decent male chuuba.

Kenmochi is great because he has super great talk skills and his humor and commentary resonates with me.
Yashiro plays a very good variety of games and is generally good at all of them so watching him is very stress free.

That's something that I really like about ID's culture, their members feel so close, friendly and confortable with one another, they really do feel like a big family or group of really good friends, dunno if some knew each other before they were in Niji but even if that's the case it's still amazing how close they are.
Elira has expressed a desire to make EN's culture similar to ID's and, while I would love to see that come true, I can't see it happenning in a long while or it being to the same level as ID's.
Between the girls, yeah, I can see it, it already kind of is, even if there are times where they feel awkward (like when Finana crashed in Elira's and Pomu's Smash collab), I'm sure they will get better fairly quickly, and, if the speculations are true, then wave 3 will make things much easier, but when it comes to the males, I feel like it won't be quite the same and the lads will be a bit more... distant, so to speak, from the girls, nothing to the degree of, say, Holostars and Hololive, but I doubt they will be ever be as close/confortable or as free as ID is, but who knows maybe they will, I would certainly be happy to be proven wrong in that.
