It's confirmed that holo staff actively lurk here.

When Mumei's yab tweet was discovered in the holoEN Council debut thread, it was deleted within less than 30 minutes.

When a thread was made about how Haachama had an upcoming stream titled "Reddit Shitpost Review with..." and the thumbnail only showed herself and a dragon in the clouds, the video was shortly edited to remove the "with...".

HoloEN Council has a literal rat character that represents chaos, which is the most blatant reference to "ogey rrat"/narrative-posting you can get while maintaining plausible deniability.

It's almost certain some talents lurk here as well, but it's hard to tell who unless they use some /vt/ term or meme that hasn't escaped containment.

It's a corporate mouthpiece, very stifling and in essence acts as a barrier filter - to get through you are expected to make some inconsequential vapid little post of "check out this cool clip! check out this meme template I did!" and it's all a little mindless if not outright deluded.

Even when Coco, their entire connection to Holo itself, graduated which was essentially like punching them right in the face, they still took it like "w-well if that's what she want's I-I'm happy for her and in fact you're an evil anti if you're angry about this at all" kind of outright kool-aid drinking and I found that actually-disturbing to witness, like actual fucking brainwashing in action because they are SO terrified of speaking their minds.

It's not that /vt/ is just so great, it's more like reddit is just so fucking bad for anything more than its original purpose - posting news and information.

>> No.8906118

>> No.8906189

The data is a bit misleading. I'm sure most people here treat the threads like general as some sort of chat room and post 30-40 times per day while the subreddit stupidly closed itself to any kind of discussion content so the users just browse and don't comment as much. If you see the number of IPs in a thread on /vt/ you can see there's way less people than the ones browsing r/hololive.

>> No.8906568

>>8906189
The IPs per thread indicate only who bothered to actually speak up, not the lurkers, and lurker-poster ratio is insanely high on 4chan actually because captcha is annoying and like half the world is rangebanned anyway. As in like 20:1. Also, from the changing times of day vs regions of the world it's not the same people commenting round the clock so to go "ha /vt/ is like 300 people" is assuming those same identities use every single thread on the board equally which is hogwash, we know a ton of people outright say they use like, 2-3 threads here and little else most of the time.

You would need to know unique IPs per 24 hour push etc to actually know the true metrics of this place and the public does not know that. We do know, that 4chan is a couple-dozen-million users at least, and that the top boards (/v/ etc) are statistically at least several million users in total. /vt/ is probably at least a couple hundred K users for its young age if not already into mil+ range. Consider reddit is actually-banned in Indonesia and if they speak English it's basically here, facebook or discord which is why there is seemingly a higher-than-expected presence of SEA here. Actually it's this state of things which leads me to rrat that this is why there seems infinitely less pressure on the IDs to avoid talking about here / dogwhistling here, because it's not like Cover is losing traffic from their sub to us to begin with. Moona is semi-openly here and responds to posts in her thread via tweet, Risu namedropped /vt/ the day it was made etc.

/jp/ was always tiny, actually it's still bloated for its relative normal size and had been usually treading 6-8k for like, the past decade.

So to see /jp/ rocketed up to like 30k average then 40k+ average in the EN age, all in only ~2 threads, was unsustainable as the subject clearly outgrew the board hence /vt/ was made. Thing is vtubers are not banned off /jp/ either so you have some residual holdouts, namely /hlg/ who feel more like they belong there because they were around far longer before /vt/ and it was really the Global surge which made /vt/ obviously-necessary.

compare to here where the overlord of this place sharkmeido is a clear Gura fan. night and day mindsets really.

I'd also say people get bothered by all the shitposting here but in essence, you can argue it is accelerationism - just getting it over with, because it's plain reality, and people are going to otherwise have those bad thoughts bundled up in their heads turning into a mental logjam for years, and to never address them is to ask people to become more and more fake/contrived versions of themselves when talking on the subject. You can be a piece of shit here, but a free-minded piece of shit not feeling like a fake little twat like reddit.

4channel hasn't been "underground" for a long ass time now. Every in-game survey I see these days (on gachas or other types of games) always have 4chan as an option for "Where do you get your news from/discuss games".
/vt/ being the board for the current trend among weebs it's not surprising to see those numbers. Not to mention reddit is and always will be cucked as they literally close their boards when a big happening occurs.

/pol/'s numbers are inflated by paid shills, slide threads and bots. They have 180 threads per hour on slow days. When the new captcha arrived, /bant/'s activity (composed of moved /pol/ threads) dropped to 6%

Literally look at the debut thread in the archives.

The last thing you can hide behind is it's not HER, but then it makes no sense why the tweet got suddenly deleted.
