Yes, the whole "Being so distraught that she tried to kill herself twice and may have come disturbingly close to succeeding the second time" detail is a major caveat. I'll concede that, but, overall, I think it was bound to happen sooner or later in that work environment. Technically Selen didn't really do much herself to expose the black company, they just simply exposed themselves eventually with the negligible petty announcement and Elira black stream. Selen didn't make them do any of that, they just went and rugpulled themselves thinking people would buy it. Pretty much it was their Icarus wings moment caused by their utter hubris and arrogance making them think they're always right and invincible. People just love to see a fucking asshole dipshit get what's coming to them and so we kind of made it a self-fulfilling prophecy by collectively deciding that's it, nijiEN as an organization is no longer legitimate or justifiable in the eyes of most people.

If it wasn't over Selen it might have been over someone else eventually, but I think the fallout would be more similar to another Zaion (probably worse however since now it would be an obvious pattern of humiliation ritual). The negligible statement showed how very fucking little niji top brass really thought of her and they literally unironically must have assumed "eh it'll be like another zaion, people will complain a bit and move on" but nah, they truly had no clue that especially with Pomu gone, Selen was one of the last sticks holding back the dam of shit that the branch had become in terms of having legitimate charming talent.
