Let's face it, polka despite BEING a crazy circus performer isn't all that crazy, this one actually suits her, her *actual* personality, and makes for a decent contrast to her really out there regular attire.

Compare this model and her personality with say marine and coco's alts, both focusing on character type, this is akin to coco's adidas clothing, now a toned down marine would be hard to picture because she's sticking to the theme she has presented.

I see that a lot of anons jumped in the "the whole design is bad" end, but that's just because of recency bias and the reveal being weak.
I agree that a normal, plain dress would be fine for Polka, but this one is pretty bad.
Colors don't match her face, not much interesting details and, her head is the worst part, as it's not really proportional + the camera angle was bad and it made her look like she had a much wider head, when she was just leaning back a bit.

Either Polka or her artist is really lacking in fashion sense. Shading issues aside, if the green on her dress had been swapped to brown, a light orange, or even a soft pink, it would look a million times better. The best part is how her hair is done. The head accessories are especially awful, especially the hat trying to tie into her original color scheme with none of that present on her dress. I love Polka dearly but this is easily one of the worst casual costumes in Hololive. Shame since I think a modest look really suits her personality.

It's understandable, but it's not very well made. Polka the character was designed with the garish circus performer outfit in mind, the entire reason she's pale as a sheet is so her skin doesn't overload the bright colors, so her in light greens and muted colors just makes melt into an indistinct blob.
I respect the intention of making Polka the character closer to Polka the person but sadly they botched it and I don't think they could have NOT botched it.
