The reason we do that is because we can't get accurate figures for memberships beyond the number of emotes in their chat, and that tops out at 2000 members, so any membership and ad revenue comparisons inevitably devolve into asspulls and "my dad can beat up your dad" level arguments.

Membership, yeah, that one's hard to gauge, especially since YT doesn't always notify of member streams and posts anymore, so live engagement is extremely small.
Just looking at twitch as an example, a streamer could have 5k "subscribers/members" and only have 800 live viewers to interact with, while another is 1:1.
