Memberships so people can throw money at her, and give superchats. Right now the only monetization she can possibly get is ad revenue which will be a couple of dollars at best with her viewer count.

As a small streamer, you either make it lucky and get a large fanbase or you hell march towards monetization so your small fanbase can support you.

I mostly watch indies, "gura numbers" were never even in question here. Breaking 10 viewers is already a huge achievement, even if it mostly means a dead chat. 30 and you have a pretty solid community and genuinely can make projects and have active interaction with chat. 70~100 and you've made it as an indie and are in the top 0.1% of them and push for bigger projects and spendings.
I'm simply saying that countless time since /jp/ I've seen people go to some 5 viewers indie, get them to 50 for a few streams and then just all disappear. It's basically their plaything, you can do w/e you want anyway, but if they think they're being charitable, they're not, that's all.

I appreciate your effort and i understand what you are trying to convey. The analogy between 2views and beggars is somewhat accurate under a certain point of view, but it falls short as soon as the talent in discussion is doing it just as a hobby. Not everyone is after the numbers.

But assuming everyone DOES aim for numbers, i still believe going out of your way to support a 2view you ACTUALLY enjoy is a good thing. You may not be able to save them all, but your actions will cast hope and dread at the same time, which is better than a static world where no chances are ever given. Love towards all is not love. Hate towards all is not hate. I believe the "unwanted side effects" are a natural outcome ties to the nature of interpersonal relationships.
