It's not dumb, though. That's been happening for an eternity. Brands sell merch long after the relevant people get a cut. Anime merch is a great example because the voice is a key part yet the VA will never see a cent of all those future sales after the series ends.

It's not false hope, you're basically looking at an idol trying to communicate a business arrangement to retards. She's no longer going to be streaming (on her channel) as Ame, but it doesn't mean this is the last time Ame will ever appear on a Hololive stream. We don't yet know what that means in practical terms yet, though, and from the sound of it neither does Ame.
