I’ve been thinking lately, about the legacy of Myth. I remember seeing a clip of Shylily saying Mori kind of showed her and a lot of people that Vtubers don’t have to act in a specific way to be successful, and with the announcement of Ame’s soft graduation, I’m seeing a lot of the same thing across fan spaces. People declaring that seeing Ame’s stream projects over the years was the motivating factor to just go for it, and not wait around for the right moment to start creating, and again by extension, redefine the boundaries of what a vtuber is “supposed” to be or do. It really genuinely is the end of an era, I don’t think Myth just laid the groundwork for future Hololive EN generations, but EN Vtubing as a whole. Everyone exists in relation to how they started doing things back in 2020.

I think the legacy of Amelia Watson is being a bridge. Something sturdy for the others to go on, where two sides could cross and meet in the middle.
Look at Myth and there's some very clear traits that defined potential content: Mori- music, Kiara- following JP in being an idol, Ina- she can draw, you know?, Gura- singing and a mix of gaming/chatting, then there's Amelia. Sure she can play games, but what's going to set her apart from another streamer?

That was a chance Cover took. Debuting their untested EN branch with 1/5 of those talents being a wildcard on top of it. It could have easily fizzled due to lack of interest, subpar content, and (lack of) management. We all know how rough those early days could get.
Without Amelia, I don't think EN would have worked as an expanding branch. The one willing to step up and organize things, offer tech support, and also be an outsider to many JP things who still wanted to build a bond with that side (While also giving JP viewers/talents that bridge to seeing how Western streamers operate.) Simultaneously being a big source of chaos and still the glue holding things together.
Amelia is a veteran but Hololive has grown and changed. She still has things she wants to try, including this new way of stepping off the stage. She's earned that right to rest, to sit back and enjoy watching what she helped create.

No one knows what the future will be. Big events she will show up for because they will be good paydays to herself and Cover. She won't be streaming any POVs but I don't see why she wouldn't technically be able to hop on casually if she desired.
I respect her not wanting to let go entirely but honestly I think I wish she fully graduated. A month notice, all the collabs and streams she could imagine, the best farewell possible and the full sense of closure. I know how I would feel about that, this weird limbo is what I don't like because I can't feel happy or sad.
