I don't think they're needed specifically but by setting boundaries regarding what she wants to do/talk about, it can help the overall community. For example, fairly early on people (well meaningly) joked about Biboo's Thai but she flat out said that while she knew people didn't mean to be rude or negative, she wasn't comfortable with the jokes so she asked them to stop. Being upfront with stuff like that can help maintain a healthy community, taking power away from the schizos.
