I love DS2. It has flaws and it's a weird game compared to 1 and 3 but it had a wonderful, ahead-of-its-time combat and weapon system and some very good bosses (and some quite bad ones).
The whole vibe of the game is so somber and weird and surreal too, it feels very unique to me in the soulsborne series. It's not my favorite, but I've spent tons of time in it over many playthroughs, endless replayability because build variety is so high.
It also had fantastic PVP although marred by a bad soul level system that made you stress out about minimizing how many souls you got or enemies you killed
