I think it might just be the differences between company culture. Selen and Finana didn't know Petra before any of this but they bounce so well together. No one knew Hada and yet Elira+Finana has gotten close enough to her to have discord calls frequently off-stream. Cover started to change their direction for HoloEN after NijiEN debuted, encouraging more impromptu collabs and stuff but you can't fake chemistry. It's still so early to tell for HoloCouncil, give them a week or two.

It's been nearly a year, and HoloEN Gen 1 are basically as awkward around each other more now than ever. It's so strange. Only Kiara, and now Sana & Bae, are likely going to come across as alive and kicking during collabs.

I've been watching vtuber for a long time, both JP and EN, I'll admit that there are vtubers that can get big numbers in collab but suck ass when doing solo stream because they themselves are boring as shit. Those people aren't successful, all their viewers are tourists, they don't get superchat. They're just a bunch of failures.

I don't know how to phrase this so I'll just say it straight: What's the point of collabs within your group? From the management's side at least.

Like, collabs OUTSIDE of the group make sense, those are all about exposure and putting you out there for a new audience. But what does the company really gain with collabs among the members? I'm not trying to say they should outlaw them, since they're great for the vtubers themselves, but I'm just trying to rationalize it for the managers themselves.
