Yes but any state like that will feel effectively unpopulated to someone used to living in the UK. The US has something like 40 times the land for only 5 times the population. Weather is a lot different, buildings are dirt cheap because the land they're built on isn't expensive, the availability of nearby large lush natural areas or parks is almost completely unavailable. Even for people who live in the British countryside most rural/non-urban areas of the US feel like a hellscape and the urban areas are beyond expensive

I think we're basing a different scale here. You definitely have a lot of landmass, but not all of it is readily accessible or consistently green. The grand canyon is a national park. 72% of the UK lives within a 15 minute walk of a public park with greenery. Most Americans live further away from their nearest grocery store by car.
