Grace, I have been there myself with a death date in mind. It sounds like you’ve been living up to your fullest to have experiences and great memories. I beg you to reconsider, not only as a Christian but just as someone who’s been in your shoes. Your body is still in peak physical health, your mental capacity is still at its peak, and you can still experience a lot of meaningful things.

There is no shame in getting up and leaving completely and starting a new life if you’re that desperate, there will be guilt in that but you’re also going to leave a lot of other people with guilt if you kill yourself. There’s also no shame in setting boundaries between the people you know right now, to help alleviate the suffering you feel.

I never talked to you, but every single person I know has been deeply affected over this. If you don’t want to change your mind, at least give it another year. If decide to give yourself another year and begin living radically in ways you never expected, you can have peace that death can come from your own choice: You could also be like me and deciding “it doesn’t matter because I’ll die anyways” and that freedom to live in the best way I can without fear of failure can lead you to actually coming out better towards the end.
