Why aren't there any comedian vtubers? Closest thing I can think of is Gura but she doesn't write structured sets. I want a vtuber who does actual stand up comedy, skits, parody music, etc. Can't believe nobody is trying this.

If you think of the top VTubers from each group (Niji, Cover, VShojo), think about whether or not they appear similar to stand up comedians a bit. You will notice each one is closer to being that then the less popular ones. Example is Gura for EN, Nyanners and Ironmouse for VShojo, etc.

Joe Rikiichi is more or less a comedian, doing everything short of stand-up, and he's got a real great singing voice too. Voice impressions, short video comedy skits, funny back and forths with other livers, you name it he's done it.
The only thing is his humor is unironically too Japanese for EOPs, relies on a lot of Japanese pop culture references and wordplay, so I can't recommend him easily.
I think Polka is probably intended to be Cover's "comedian" hence the clown outfit. I remember her past life's humor being quite out there. Don't know why nobody's brought her up yet.

I mean, you're asking for "structured sets." How many sets do you think any given professional comedian has? Talented comedians usually take a decade or more working in shithole clubs or writing rooms to mature and refine their character and this is why their success with prewritten material usually arrives in their 30s. It takes life experience and insane levels of confidence to be a pro comedian which is something few people in their 20s can pull off. Eddie Murphy was a rare example of someone who made it before 25. He was a baby in the comedy world made up of mostly people in their 30s and 40s.

There is a difference between a class clown/funny friend and a comedian who can turn it on and entertain a crowd of strangers for 3 hours straight. You see the unpolished gems in young improv clubs but it is usually 90% cringe, and get them out of their element and they no longer have the confidence to be funny when alone in a crowd. Vtubers are generally too new, too young and often too insecure to pull off serious sustained comedy.

The other problem even with pro comedians is they have a very shallow pool of viable material that the pull from night after night. The ones who do live comedy acts visit a new town each week telling the same jokes to a fresh audience. The ones on TV don't even write their own jokes and a whole team of writers prepare material for them to help prop them up. If you watch late-night TV you know how it gets after the 5 minute monologue uses up all the jokes.

If an army of writers can barely keep a pro comedian fed with 5 minutes of nightly jokes, what would a vtuber comedian do with 10+ hours of streaming a week? They would burn out so fast and the pressure to "say something funny" on command would take a toll. It is an entirely different skillset to be entertaining which is what vtubers excel at. Fubuki isn't a comedian but she can turn 3 hours of waiting into an iconic event just by keeping herself entertained.
