Nijisanji was always doomed to be pepsi.
Their "shit as many members as possible and let them all do whatever they want" strategy is similar to what Pepsi did.
They try way too hard to be edgy, to be the anti-coca cola and they constantly shit out new marketing strategies and change their image, there's no clear "Pepsi" identity because they are so chaotic.
It's the same way as Nijisanji.
Meanwhile Hololive and Coca Cola went for a more consistent and down to earth strategy. They built their brand on values and they stuck to them and remained a classic, recognizable, reliable.

Nijisanji was around before Hololive was a serious competitor though. You can't act like they were (or are) trying to define themselves against Hololive when Hololive was just a few relatively unpopular streamers when they were founded.

The Niji's who collabed with vshoujo destroyed the Niji brand themselves. The holos who did it only destroyed their own brand because holos are iconic. Niji's are cheap and mass produced, (most) holos are priceless. This is why Niji's actually need to be that much better to compete. Instead, they go the ethot route and collab with both whores and men.

What Niji's don't realize is that being a Niji isn't easy mode. It's not a crutch if you can't or refuse to win over gachis. It's hard mode. And the more Niji's fail to keep up, the more Niji's get released, and the harder it becomes for any given Niji to break out. Being a Niji is a spartanesque existence, and the only ones to blame for shit numbers are the Niji's who don't realize this fact or try that much harder because of it. To be a truly successful Niji means being the best, and the current batch of Niji's just aren't. The freedom granted is supposed to be used to reach ever greater heights, but instead it's used as an excuse to sick around like any dime a dozen streamer.

Niji will never truly flourish until someone comes in and uses that freedom to run past the end of Hololive's leash and lap them. But that takes true vision and ambition, the likes of which only a nijimale would presumably be capable of. I have at mething in mind, but it'll likely never come to fruition. In my place, I can only hope a male vtuber steps up to save these worthless whores using the charisma and creativity that only a man can have. Until then, it'll just be a descending staircase of ever decreasing numbers as each successive generation gets released until niji en invariably floods the market so much they wind up drowning themselves.
